Ellie Goulding- Still Falling For You
"And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
No one can lift me, catch me the way that you do
Still falling for you
Falling, crash into my arms
Love you like this
Like a first kiss
Never let go"Maia
We all got back to my place and I felt the need to shake the gloomy feeling away.
"Okay guys, it's quite a sad day, but who's up for dinner tonight?" My mom asked, trying to raise everyone's spirits.
"I think that's a great idea Mrs Blue." Said Cade.
"Ember and Max you're invited too."
"Great. We'll be here. What time though?" They asked.
"6pm?" Said mom.
"Make it 7pm darling." My dad said.
"So 7pm it is." I said.
"You guys can go and rest, we'll make dinner. Don't be late." Said dad.
Cade and I went upstairs and this time we went to his room. I had never actually visualized it. It wasn't so bad.
"We should change and go for a stroll." Said Cade.
"I think that's a good idea."
I changed into a short sky blue dress and wore a pair of sandals. He wore some colourful shorts and a grey vest. We walked to the beach, and because we were approaching the fall, it was a bit cooler and wet. I actually enjoyed this type of weather.
We removed our shoes and held them since the beach sand was damp and soaky. He had his arm over my shoulder and I had mine around his waist.
Cade and I watched the sea, lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves on sand. Our eyes are steady to the horizon, face aglow with the last orange rays before twilight beckons the stars. His lips bear the semblance of a smile, just enough to show that he is enjoying his thoughts, whatever they may be. I moved closer so that he could feel my presence, and I stayed quiet, allowing him to stay lost in the moment a while longer.
The yellow ball of fire changed to hues of orange, and then almost tangerine. It merged with the sky, like juice-mix dissolving in a glass of water. The clouds were cotton-candy, as though they blushed at the warm touch of the sun. Silhouettes of birds flew home across a sky that was now magenta; and the sun was half into the water, but its reflection in the sea made it look complete. The mauve of the dusky sky intensified, and in just a while, the sun cast it's golden rays down upon the clouds of billowing smoke, turning them red; bright red.
"It's beautiful." I said.
"Just like you." He said.
I kissed him.
He finally kisses my mouth, everything goes oddly quiet, like the moment of silence between lightning and thunder. One Mississippi. Two Mississippi. Three Mississippi. Four Mississippi. Five Mississippi.
Bang.
We kiss again. The next kiss is the kind that breaks open the sky. It steals my breath and gives it back. It shows me that any other kiss I've had in my life has been wrong.
"We should probably go home now, otherwise we'll be late." He said.
We walked hand in hand back home.
Dinner Time
Everyone changed into decent clothing for the dinner. Ember and Max came and the table was looking pretty breath taking. There was spaghetti squash, chicken rotisserie, meatballs, chicken nuggets and gravy. There was also champagne, juice and water in the middle.
"Wow, it's amazing." Cade gasped.
"Let's not forget to say Grace." Ember said.
And we laughed.
We said Grace and began to eat.It was a tasty meal, no lie. The crunchy sounds and the chewing that came from the table was quite funny and amusing. It was just a sign that people were enjoying. We laughed together and smiled. It was good being in each others' company. These are the people I love the most in the world.
As we ate though, Cade ran his hand up my thigh and I looked at him.
Returning the favour, I put my hand on his knob.
And we both chuckled.
"Maia, Cade, is everything okay?" Mom questioned suspiciously.
Ember and Max shook their heads, I'm sure they had an idea.
"We're okay, don't worry." I responded.
"Mind sharing the joke?" Teased Max.
I gave him the stare and we all laughed it off.
We talked for another whole hour and decided to rest.
Ember left with Max as usual and Cade and I were on our way upstairs when my mom called me.
"Is something wrong?" I asked her.
"No honey, it's just that I'm at home tonight with your father and I wouldn't be too comfortable if you and Cade, you know have sex while we're here." She said.
A laugh escaped from my lips.
"What's funny?"
"Nothing, it's just uhhh okay? Can we spend the night elsewhere then?" I asked.
"Sure. It's the weekend anyway, you do what you want."
I went upstairs and told Cade.
"Your mom though, anyways I'd feel awkward too, I think I have a special place to go for tonight. Grab your things and let's go." He said.
It didn't take long and just like that, Cade and I were on a ride to the land of promises...
