Samantha Harvey- Forgive Forget

"Wish your words were on a paper
So I could erase them
But I know that's never how it goes
All these memories are so bitter
You had made me stronger"

Maia

The whole week went by in just a flash. Ember and Max showed their love and concern for me while I was feeling unwell. There was still so much tension between my mother and I. I got discharged and I was fit enough to go to school on Monday.

I walked in with Cade, Ember and Max.

"Why are these guys still here?" Ember asked pointing at the policemen.

"I'm actually wondering the same-"

I was interrupted by Norman and Walker with a bunch of policemen behind them.

"Cade Harrison you're under arrest for the murder of Jackson Mendes. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. Take him away boys." Walker said.

My heart raced a mile a minute.

Cade didn't say anything. He stood there as they began to handcuffed him. I guess he was wise enough to know. Considering he was quite familiar with prison and law terms.

I shook my head. Just too many thoughts were in my head. First of all, Jack was dead and secondly Cade was being blamed for it.

Then I thought of Norman. He had been kind to me earlier. Maybe he'd be kind this time.

"Norman, what's the meaning of this? Why are you accusing Cade?"

"Jack was found tossed by the lake near his home. He was stabbed on the shoulder and we searches his apartment and we found a knife with Cade's DNA on it. So we figured it could be the murder weapon." He explained.

"But Cade would never do that to him." Max defended.

The whole school went haywire. People were screaming and shouting. I was in dismay.

"Maia, let's go." Ember said and she dragged me away from the crowd.

We went to the girls' locker room and sat on one of the benches.

"Ember, I know Cade didn't kill him."

"How can you be so sure?"

"He told me he didn't do it so I believe him and Ember I'll stop at nothing until I prove that he's innoc-"

"Okay okay, I'll stop you right there. How will you even help him? They have evidence and here we are. Sitting and talking. Don't tell me you're just gonna go there and say I believe him, cause it doesn't work like that." She nagged.

I rolled my eyes.

"I'll find a way."

She then rolled her eyes.

"Sure I'll help you, so what's out first step?" She asked.

"I was thinking of Norman."

"The detective? What will he do?"

"He gave me his card. He said I could reach him if I needed help. So I was thinking of convincing him that Cade is innocent first. If it works out, then everything else will be easier." I said.

"Pause. You want to convince a detective that your boyfriend didn't kill Jack?" She asked sounding confused.

"He's quite nice Ember." I said.

"Yeah sure, he's nice and he's kinda cute too. His blond hair, his calm brown eyes and his sexy manly voice meowww." She laughed.

I couldn't help but allow a small laugh to escape my lips.

"Don't get too excited. He's a detective and I'm not set for that. I care about Cade-"

"Yeah yeah and all you wanna do is prove his innocence... we all know that's what you're gonna say." Ember teased.

Suddenly Alison stormed in crying.

Ember and I turned and faced her and she saw us.

"You!" She said pointing at me.
"Your pathetic little boyfriend is gonna pay for this." She screamed.
"He killed Jack. Jack is-"

"Jack is rotting in hell right now and guess what, I don't care. He was a rapist, being killed was the least he deserved. So just shut up and Cade didn't-" before I could finish, Ember silenced me.

"Maia, it's not worth it, let's go."

I guess she was right. The last thing I needed was to be battling with Ali.

There was a much bigger mission ahead.

Cade

I guess I was right... I knew the darkest hour was close... And here I am, locked up behind bars for a crime I didn't commit.
