"Cade. I feel for you. I mean it's like in a blink of an eye, everything was gone and you were living a totally different life. How are you even alive?"

"Hope for the better Maia. I always hoped I'd be okay everytime I felt like giving up."

She looked sad.

"Hey don't be sad, we're here together aren't we?"

"We are. And I don't ever want to lose you. I never knew you battled so many things Cade. But don't you ever wish to visit your parents?"

"I do, I only get a call for them every year on my birthday. And my birthday is two weeks away. I can't wait."

I could see the sadness in her eyes.

"Wow, you're probably the strongest man I know Cade. I'm proud of the man that you've become."

"Well, one more thing about Roxanne. You won't believe me but she looked just like you."

"Really?" She asked in disbelief.

"Well yeah. I'll be honest. When I first saw you at River High, I thought I was having a mirage, seeing Roxanne's face everywhere. But then I realised you were real. That's what I meant when I said, you're the stranger I was able to recognise in the beginning, the day we had sex for the first time."

"I remember. Wow everything makes so much sense now." She said breathing heavily.
"But why didn't you just ask me out then?" I asked.

"I wasn't ready for you Maia, it would've been like Roxanne. At first I was afraid, then the fear turned to unpreparedness. I always knew you were the one. I just didn't have a way. Roxanne looked just like you, but come to think of it, you're total opposites. She was rowdy and loud and you were shy and timid."

Maia chuckled.

"You love her a lot, don't you?"

"I loved her, you're the only one I think about now. I knew you long before I met you Blue. Don't ever question the love that's in between." I told her.

She smiled and I could tell she was still in shock.

"Here's a picture of Roxanne." I showed her a picture in my phone.

"Cade you're freaking me out now. She looks just like me. The only differences are the birthmark on her cheek, and her eyebrows, they're furrowed. Her chin is more arched than mine but still. Was she a natural red head?" She asked.

"No, she was blond. She dyed her hair red, when she was adopted."

Maia gave me back my phone and rested her head on my chest.

"It's gonna take a while for me to digest this." She said and I could feel her heart beat. It was faster than usual.

"Don't worry, you're my heart, body and soul. Roxanne is in the past and if it wasn't for her, we wouldn't be here today."

"And our baby. I wonder how things would've turned out if I never lost him." She said.

"There'll come a time when we can have as many babies as we want Maia, rest easy. It's never about where you come from, it's always about where you belong."

She kissed me.

"We better sleep Cade, we still got school tomorrow."
