I left school after the last lesson of the day. I wasn't in the right mind. I decided to go over to the library in the city. I had an assignment to do, I could've done it at home but I knew Cade would be there as well and I wasn't in the mood to talk to him.

"Good afternoon Mrs Cranberry." I greeted the librarian.

"Hey Maia, what brings you here?"

"I've got an assignment, may I please use your private basement." I pleaded.

"Of course. Here are the keys. Lock the door on your way out." She handed me the keys and I went up to the basement.

I liked how she trusted me so much.

I sat in front of the computer. I switched it on and began working. The air in the basement was a little warm so I took off my jacket. I placed it on top of some newspapers that were on the next desk. The newspapers tumbled and fell. I got up to pick them and I faced the most shocking thing ever.

On one of the headlines, there was a picture of Cade. Well a younger looking Cade. I guess.

The headline read 'Young boy accused of rape and arson in Miami'

My jaw dropped. What was the meaning of this. Cade? Rape? Arson?

I went back to my seat to read the entire story.

It said;

Caiden Harris, a young boy of 16 was accused of raping a girl his age, Roxanne Crawford. Caiden Harris denied all accusations and claimed that the young girl was his girlfriend. Roxanne's burnt body was found in the building which had been set on fire by Caiden Harris. This is how he was also accused of arson. Witnesses say that he intentionally set the building on fire while Roxanne was inside. Rumours say the young couple was experiencing serious untold issues.

My heart started beating faster. The papers said his name was Caiden Harris, but his name is Cade Harrison. But I knew for a fact that it was Cade. It was him in the pictures. A tear of fear slipped down my cheeks. I started trembling I fear. I was awfully too scared now. The room became cold. Ice cold like snow. It's like I was freezing. Goosebumps were all over my body. I was now starting to wonder how many things Cade has been hiding from me.

I had to confront him. I just had to. I grabbed my jacket and my bag. I shoved the newspaper into my bag and stormed out of the basement.

I locked the door.

"Maia, are you alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost." Mrs Cranberry said.

"Um it's nothing, uh I have to go home. Thanks, here's your keys." I said and walked away.

I drove home as fast as I could.
