"I had a really nice time," Calum tells Stephen as they pull up in front of his apartment block.
"So did I."
"Thanks for dinner," Calum beams as Stephen turns off the engine.
"My pleasure."
There's a pause, only a slight one before Calum asks, "So, do you want to come up?"
"Oh I can't, I have my first patient at seven thirty."
Calum thinks for a moment and then scoots towards Stephen, leaning in and kissing him before the man can react. Then he gives him a quick smile before ducking down, heading into his lap.
"Hey!" Stephen pulls him up again, pushing him away a little to Calum's confusion, "What are you doing?"
"I thought..." Calum stammers, not quite knowing what's going on but knowing that something's definitely going on from the slightly disgusted look on Stephen's face, "...I mean, don't you want to..?"
Stephen licks his lips, unsure as to how he feels but knowing he has to give an answer. This isn't how he thought he'd be ending the evening but end it he must, right now.
"I asked you out because I wanted to get to know you better, not because I wanted a quick fuck. Look, I'll call you."
Leaning across Calum, Stephen opens the door from the inside for him and, taking his loud and clear cue, Calum gets out, feeling like a cheap whore who's made a huge mistake. Stephen drives off straight away, without even a wave or a bye, leaving Calum to make his way slowly into his building wondering what the whole evening was about.

"I knew you couldn't stay away!" Corey crows to Sam with a massive smile on his face when he appears by his side in Arq holding a beer.
"I'm strictly here as an observer," Sam informs him.
"Yeah? So what else is new?" asks Calum grumpily, leaning over and taking a swig out of Sam's beer bottle.
"Somebody must have eaten something that disagreed with him," comments Corey mildly to Sam, taking in Calum's pissed off face and tight lips. Calum's also dressed in what can only be Michael's clothes, designer black from head to toe, he might have known he'd go straight over there after leaving theirs.
"It was a complete waste of time!" complains Calum. "He paid for dinner and he didn't even want to fuck."
"Maybe he has a prostate problem, or only one testicle?" suggests Corey.
"Or maybe he doesn't like me?"
"Why wouldn't he like you?" asks Sam, a little annoyed, taking back his bottle of beer and wiping the top on his shirt.
"The same reason as everybody else. I'm not Michael."
Corey sticks his face right into Calum's and tells him, "That is such bullshit!"
Sam rolls his eyes, "He must have liked you! Why else would he ask you out?"
"I don't know!" Calum yells angrily. This whole evening has gone to shit and now he can't see Michael anywhere.
"It's just your own insecurities."
"Maybe," suggests Corey, "He's the old fashioned type and doesn't fuck until the second date?"
"Well I don't care," Calum grabs Sam's beer bottle off him again and swigs it back, "I'm going to go find someone who wants me."

Michael knocks gently on the front door, waiting for an answer. Calum's out on a date so this is the only other place he can come.
"The kitchen's closed!" Geordie calls through the glass when she pulls the curtain back and sees him standing on her front door step.
Michael knocks again, a little more insistently, making her pause in the hallway and, biting her lip, she turns to open the door.
"Are you sleeping?"
"We have a new born in the house, we never sleep," she tells him, leaning on the door frame to watch him.
"Sorry I missed dinner." It sounds shitty, even to him, that he would turn down Geordie's cooking to fuck a client and that's been the whole problem tonight. He should be in Arq, but he can't bring himself to go there, prostituting himself for his boss has put him off and out of sorts all evening.
"Don't apologise, it doesn't become you." Geordie's pissed with him, and with good reason, but she still turns to let him in, "And don't think you can flash that smile and get away with it. It might be cute at twenty but at thirty it's starting to get pathetic."
"Twenty nine!" Michael smiles at her, making her smile back despite her annoyance.
"Have you eaten?"
"No," he shakes his head.
"Come on..." Despite herself Geordie knows that Michael only turns up this late at night if something is troubling him, not that she'll ever get to know what it is. But she knows, from all the years they've been friends, that all he needs right now is company.
And maybe some left over garlic chicken.

Calum walks through the back room at Arq, watching men's half naked bodies squirm in pleasure and hearing the sighs and moans all around him, looking for someone to fuck him or suck him off. At this point in the evening he's not bothered which.
~~~
Geordie comes back into the living room, and stops at the doorway watching Michael with Gus.
He's laid down on the sofa with the boy on his chest, both of them obviously tired as Gus nuzzles into Michael's neck and shuts his eyes. Michael holds his head, his fingers moving slowly, feeling the downy hair and the soft skin folds of his son's neck and closes his eyes, falling asleep on Geordie's sofa before he can eat, with a warm, soft body on top of him that doesn't demand he do anything but hold him close.
~~~
Calum chooses a man, locking eyes with him, knowing that his needs have been communicated with no words needed. The guy's all over him; unbuttoning his shirt, his jeans, making appreciative noises when he gets Calum's cock out. Calum chooses not to shut his eyes as he usually does when he's being sucked off, this time he feels a sense of power, dressed as he is in Michael's clothes, keeping them open as he fucks the guys mouth, pulling his head closer towards him when he feels the need to go deeper.
A/N - I love the role reversal between Michael and Calum here. How about you?
