Chloe enters the Diner with one of the girls she hangs out with at school. Her hair down around her face with a tight t-shirt on, exuding a new attitude that Luke's senses as soon as she walks in. He downs the bottle of water he's drinking and turns to them both, "Hey!"
Chloe smiles, taking a seat at the counter, "Luke!"
"What are you doing here?"
"Thought I'd drop in and say hi!" she says with a dazzling smile on her face.
"Hi Kim."
"Hi Luke!"
Kim's also got a dazzling smile on her face, which Luke finds a little disconcerting since he's never really even talked to her before.
"Can I get you something to eat? On the house?"
"Oooh yeah, a hot fudge sundae!" Chloe's face lights up.
Kim excuses herself, "I'm on a diet...got to be ready for the ball!"
"Okay!" turning away, Luke grabs a sundae glass and gets to work.
"I suppose you two are going together?" Kim asks innocently. Too innocently. Luke's spider senses prick up, there's something definitely going on here. His suspicions are confirmed when Chloe looks at her and then smiles and blushes as she looks down at her place setting. Kim looks at Luke for an answer with her eyebrows raised, unable to contain the smirk on her face.
Luke smiles back, a fleeting superficial smile, and then he looks at Chloe's face. "Chloe, can I talk to you for a second? Over here?"
Chloe sends a look to Kim as she slides off her seat to meet Luke over by the coffee machine.
"Did you say anything?" Luke asks her quietly.
"About what?" she answers innocently. Luke gives her a look.
"Oh! That!" She blushes again.
"Yes, that!"
"We never said it was a secret!"
Luke can't believe his ears. "I don't believe it!"
"What's so terrible? The worst that can happen is that people think you're straight!" She brushes off his concerns like they're nothing. "Besides it was nice! I wanted to share it with someone!"
Luke likes the compliment, "Okay, well I suppose it's alright..."
"I thought we could do something when you get off your shift?" she asks, her eyes sparkling.
"I can't, I have plans..." Luke takes a sip of water again.
"What plans?"
He shrugs, "Just plans..."
"You didn't tell me!"
Luke's spider senses prickle again, "Why aren't you going out with your boyfriend?" he asks curiously.
Chloe can't look at him, "We broke up..."
Luke looks at her with a very uncomfortable feeling churning in his stomach, "You did?"
Didn't he just have sex with Chloe specifically so that when she did it with her boyfriend it wasn't new and uncomfortable? And now she's not even with him barely a day later?
"Well the more I thought about it, we didn't have that much in common..."
"I thought you had amazing messaging sessions?"
She laughs him off, "Not that amazing, he can't spell well! Maybe we've been running out of things to chat about? That never seems to happen to you and me..."
