"Anyone seen a hot little item in our local gay rag?" Dave asks, placing the Freedom Gay Times newspaper firmly down in the middle of the corner booth in the Diner. Three faces look up expectantly as he takes a seat in their booth.

"Is my ad still running?!" Corey jokes.

" 'If you've got it, I'll sit on it?' Is that your ad?!" Dave jokes back, laughing. "No, I mean this..." He opens the paper and points to an article on one of the inside right pages.

Michael cricks his neck to read it as Sam muses to Corey, "You know I don't think I've ever opened this paper from the front!"

Corey shoots a grin at Sam as Michael reads out the top paragraph of the article, "A fund raiser for Senator Deborah Fletcher will be held at the home of Dr Stephen Chesterton and Mr Calum Hood."

Joy's screech fills the air from half way across the diner as she comes hurrying towards them having overheard everything Michael's just said, "What?!!! Let me see that!"

A voice rings out, "Hey can we have our food?"

"Eat the bread!" Joy snatches the paper up from the table and finds the column. "Oh my god! Oh my baby's in high society!"

"And here's the hostess with the mostess!..." Dave says, a slight sarcastic edge to his voice as he glances at his nephew, snappily dressed in all-black designer wear, standing at the table.

Joy smacks Calum's chest proudly with the paper before looking at it again to read every single word in the article. If she could cut it out right now as a clipping she would, "Why didn't you tell me about this?!"

Corey looks at Calum, his chin in his hands, "Entertaining a Senator!"

"I hope you don't show her those slides from Paris!" Sam advises, making Michael fake yawn. Calum shoots them both an annoyed look before turning to his mother.

"This is just a little thing that Stephen's throwing, I think he gave her a shoulder adjustment once at his practice..." Calum's nonchalant to the point of boredom but there's something about his eyes that tell Michael and Dave he's lying.

"Could we please have our food!" The guy at the next table bellows, making Sam jump in his seat.

Joy dismisses him, "It's salad! It's not going to get cold! Oh Shit! What do you wear to meet a senator?" she asks everyone around the table, looking worried.

"Oh! I think I'll wear my orange suit and my new lime green tie!" Corey claps his hands in delight.

"Very understated, that's definitely the way to go! How about you Michael?" Sam asks, not having caught the looks that Michael and Dave were sending each other. Corey blows a raspberry in Sam's direction as he takes a slurp of his drink.

"Armani or Gucci?" Corey asks, turning to him, knowing Michael's favourite designers.

Michael looks back at them both, surprised they're asking. "Nothing. I wasn't invited..." he points out, glancing at Dave before looking up at Calum for confirmation.

Joy puts the paper down on the table. "Of course you're invited!" she chimes, turning to look at Calum. "We're all invited, right honey?"

"Well, it's going to be really stuffy...you know, no fun at all. And you have to make a contribution..."

Michael looks down at his placemat as Calum carries on making excuses above him. He was right, hanging out with people like Boo Boo and Balzathar, going to Paris and having clothes and a car bought for him has really turned Calum's head. Dave glances at Michael, both of them knew this was coming but it's still surprising to hear the sheer amount of bullshit currently coming out of Calum's mouth.
