September

"Um, would you, um, like to go out with me this Friday night?" Louis asked as he walked me to the elevator doors in my dorm building.

"I can't." I thought. "It's not that I don't want to, it's just I have something planned on Friday night."

My eyes widened at how that came out.

"Not with another date or with um another person. Just me." I awkwardly smiled.

"That's okay. My friends and I are going to this bar and they wanted to check out this singer. They're bringing their girlfriends." His eyes widened. "Not that you're my girlfriend. It's, I don't want to be alone. I'm going to be alone. I'm fifth wheeling again."

"Thank you for walking me Louis." I smiled as I step on the elevator. His smile was the last thing I see before the silver doors closed.

I replayed this day over and over again in my head and as the doors opened, I saw Harry standing in front of my door. He seemed pissed and I planned on getting on the doors and sneaking away, but he already saw me.

"Where have you been? It's almost 11 Venus!" He boomed and I flinched at how loud he was and I would probably get kicked out if he continued yelling so I opened my room and dragged him in.

I scoffed. "It's not like you care. What are you doing here? Please don't yell. You're going to get me kicked out."

His eyes softened as he glanced to the wall with pictures. He moved to get a clear look.

"Who's this?" He asked pointing to a picture. It was a picture of me and Niall with his hands on my waist and I kissed his cheek with him grinning widely, it was taken on his birthday.

"That's my bestfriend."

Silence consumed us as he glanced at the pictures with him chuckling lightly as he goes through the pictures of us.

"I'm sorry." He said after a while.

"Why?"

"To be honest, I don't know. I was-still am scared because you were becoming this independent woman and I was just afraid you didn't need me anymore." He looked at his feet.

"Harry?" He looked up. "Do you think of me as an excess baggage before?"

"What?!" He exclaimed. "Why would you think that? You are never an excess baggage. You are part of me, a huge part of me Venus. I wouldn't trade it for anything."

"Then, why didn't you call me?"

"I was waiting for you to call me Venus. I told myself if you called me, then it means you still need me but you didn't."

"What? Of course I need you. You're my big brother, I was lucky enough to have Niall here or else I don't know how I would've survived my first wrek here. I needed you Harry. I thought you forgot about me and realized I was becoming more of a responsibility than a sister." I was biting back the tears.

"You are my responsibilty Venus. You are my sister and it's my job to protect you and be there for you. To think about it, looking from your point of view it may seem like that but it's not. I don't mind protecting you and being you're rock and I was just afraid."

"I'm sorry too Harry." I opened my arms and he immediately threw himself at me.

"We're okay? Like really okay? You're not just telling me that because you want me to go, right?"

I laughed. "No. Are you driving back to London? I don't want you to drive this late."

He shook his head. "I don't have classes tomorrow though I have practice. So I'll just leave here around 1, I can grab lunch with you if you want."
