CHAPTER XXIII

December

I strummed the last chord of the song as I finished singing, the vibrating of the strings still imminent. Tonight, I have a gig at the bar and I was excited since the songs I'm going to sing were all happy, a contrast of my past weeks.

The digital clock on my nightstand flashed the big seven and I decided it was time to get ready. My phone vibrated on the table and I glanced at it, seeing it was a text from Niall saying he'll be watching me tonight. I smiled at my phone, not bothering to reply since I was going to see him later.

Stepping inside the shower, I wondered what Louis was doing. The last text message he sent me was a picture of him grinning at the camera in his football uniform followed by the words 'I'll text you later'. That was three hours ago. Not that I minded, I wasn't going to be a clingy girlfriend.

My thoughts consumed me and before I knew it, it was half past seven and I'm struggling to find an outfit. I came across a white strapless dress that ended mid-thigh and a white jacket to pair it with. Grabbing it, along with my light grey over the knee boots, I started putting it on and started to ponder what to do with my makeup. Deciding to go with a classic dark red lipstick and nude eye shadow, I finished my appearance with my hair up in a ponytail.

A knock came in my door 10 minutes before eight and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion to who was at the door. I peeked at the peep hole and there was Perrie and Danielle grinning from ear to ear as they wait for me to open the door.

"Vee!" Perrie exclaimed as I open the door for them. She took in my appearance and smiled in excitement, while I was confused to why she did that. "Great, you're ready!"

"I thought Louis didn't inform you, thank God he did." Danielle said as she sat on my couch.

"Inform me of what?"

"What? You don't know?" Perrie said as she makes a face.

"Know what?"

"IF you don't know, then why are you dressed up?" Danielle questioned as she pointed her index finger at me.

"I have a gig. And know what?" I was pouting by this time since the two of them are taking so long to get to the point.

"The party!" Perrie exclaimed with a grin. "Every year, even before we were here, there's this sorority that holds a party before the holiday break."

"Um, okay. I wasn't informed about that." I said as I gathered my things and put them on my purse. I wasn't going to bother bringing my guitar since Alex said I can use their guitar there. "I'm sorry, but I'm almost late, I have to go."

The frown was evident in Perrie's face as the fact that I'm not going to the party hits her as well as Danielle. "You have to go after."

"I don't know. I finish at ten and then I have many works to catch up to before the break tomorrow."

"Louis is going to want you there!" Perrie stomped her foot like a little child and I giggled at her before realizing her words.

"Well, the fact that he didn't even tell me about this party says otherwise." I crossed my arms and opened the door. "You know what, you guys have fun. Tell me if anything drastic happens."

"Wait!" Danielle said as she finally stands up from my couch. "You're not seriously going to go without taking a picture, right?"

"Picture of what?"

"Picture of us!" She exclaimed as she motioned towards us three. I just noticed that we were all wearing the same colors. Perrie was wearing light grey pants and a white blouse with white Mary Janes while Danielle was wearing white high-waisted shorts with a loose white tank top tucked in and light grey ankle boots. I almost laughed at us, clearly it wasn't planned. Well, at least not for me. "We're matching!"
