CHAPTER LXII

December

"Hi, I'm Eleanor, Louis' fiancée."

The last two words caused chills to run up my spine but I didn't let them know how it fazed me so much so I shook her hand with the fakest smile I could muster.

"I'm Venus; I'm Louis'...friend." Were we friends? I didn't know how to label us and saying I'm Louis' ex-girlfriend wasn't exactly a conversation starter.

"Oh, I never heard of you." She said confused as to why she's only hearing about me now as she looks at Louis.

"I'm an old friend." I smiled awkwardly.

"Mum, what's a fiancée?" Chance asked as he tugged on my arm. I forgot about him for a moment, how was I going to explain to him that his father is marrying someone else?

"A fiancée is someone you're going to marry." Eleanor smiled sweetly, leaning down to meet Chance's height. "Hi, I'm Eleanor, what's your name?"

"I'm Chance." He replied shyly. I looked towards the rest of the Tomlinson family and they were watching in anticipation of what will unfold. Lottie and Jay noticed my stare and they sent me an apologetic smile.

"Oh, you're a mum!" Eleanor beamed at me as she looked towards me. "So who's the lucky man?"

Oh, shit.

"So you're going to marry my dad?" Chance asked and I closed my eyes, letting out a huge breath that I was holding ever since she came in the room.

"Your dad?" Eleanor's eyebrows furrowed as she looked towards Louis. "Certainly, you don't mean Louis."

"Um, Eleanor." Louis cleared his throat, making us all look towards him. "Chance is my son."

There was a long pause as Eleanor looked at her feet. The whole family, including me was waiting in anticipation to what her response may be.

I have never felt so awkward in my life. My heart was thumping wild at my chest at all of the emotions running through my head and my heart.

I was on the brink of crying if it weren't for the little boy beside me.

"You're kidding, right?" Eleanor finally said. "This must be some kind of joke."

"No, Eleanor. It's true. Venus is my ex-girlfriend, she kept Chance from me for ten years and I just found out about two weeks ago." Louis explained slowly.

Eleanor let out a humorless laugh as she looked at me.

"That's why she was so familiar. You still have her picture on that photo book you have by our bed." And wow, they live together. I just want the ground to open and swallow me. "But, why now? After ten years, why now?"

"Eleanor-." Louis started as she wraps his hand around Eleanor's forearm.

"No, wait, Louis." She shrugged of Louis' hand as she walked towards me. "Why now, huh? Clearly you've found out that Louis is doing well and you want his money. Or you've found out that he just proposed to me and you want to destroy us. I bet the little boy is not even his."

"Eleanor, stop." Louis warned.

"What do you want, money?" She sneered, her brown eyes turning into slits. "I can give you that, clearly you're a gold-digger. Or do you want to stop the wedding from happening sorry, I hate to break it you but that isn't going to happen."

"How dare you!" Lottie boomed making us all look at her. "How dare you tell those things to the mother of my nephew? She has showed us nothing but kindness since the day we met her and gold digger? She has more money than what your little modeling job has to offer! You know that time you broke Louis' heart? Louis doesn't even want to come home because of you, because he was afraid of bumping into you, you turned Louis against us! And Venus was there to pick up the pieces, she even brought Louis home. So think twice before you insult her, my nephew or anyone in this roof."
