CHAPTER LXIII
December
I fiddled on the hem of my sweater as I sat in the backseat in Eleanor's car.
There was no doubt, an awkward tension in the air as we spent the whole time in silence.
Perrie and Zayn's house was big, considering their jobs were doing well with Perrie as a makeup artist and Zayn owning a restaurant slash museum that he displays his paintings in.
I went out of the car first, Perrie, Zayn and Liam's gift in hand. I let Eleanor assist Louis since I don't think she'd react well. I don't even know if she knows that I'm his doctor.
The door swung open before I even brought my fist up to knock and I was greeted by the blonde friend that I have missed over the years.
Granted, I was hurt about how our last meeting went, but I had probably done the same when Perrie did that to Zayn.
"Vee!" Perrie exclaimed as she threw her arms around me, squeezing me tight and I gladly returned it.
"Merry Christmas Perrie." I laughed as she pulled away; she shot me a wide grin as she looked me in the eye but suddenly turned into a frown when she looked behind me.
"What are you doing here?" Her mood did a complete 180.
"Don't be like Perrie, I used to be your friend. And this hag is allowed and not me?" Eleanor had the audacity to laugh as she kissed Perrie on the cheek and went inside the house, letting herself in.
"Bloody hell, Louis!" Perrie sneered as she looked at him in the most venomous way ever. "You know how I feel about your engagement and you bloody bring her here!"
"I'm sorry, Pez." Louis said apologetically as he looked at his feet. "She wanted to come."
"If she ruins this dinner, you're fucked." Perrie warned before looping her arms around mine and dragging me inside.
"Venus." Zayn greeted flashing me his pearly whites. Zayn looked thinner and he has so many tattoos now, more than Louis.
"Hello Zayn." I said as I wrapped my arms around him and he lifted me off of the ground, spinning me around. I laughed loudly at him and clutched onto him tightly before I felt my feet meet the ground, once again.
"I missed you, little one." He ruffled my hair before turning to Perrie. "Um, babe, why is Eleanor here?"
"Ask your friend." Perrie rolled her eyes as she looped her arms around mine once again. "Your friend is an idiot."
Zayn just laughed at her before following us to the dining room where an uncomfortable Liam was seated with Eleanor and Louis.
"Vee!" Liam immediately stood up, grateful to be excused from the conversation. "I missed you."
"You only saw me a few days ago." I laughed as he pulled me into a bear hug.
"Still." He said before whispering. "I'm sorry."
"Why?" I whispered back.
"This was supposed to be a happy Christmas; I don't know what she's doing here." He whispered before pulling away. "I'm just happy you're here."
"Am I too late?" A voice interrupted us and Perrie and I simultaneously squealed at the brown haired Irish boy that announced his arrival the way he did back in college.
"Niall!" Perrie squealed as she was the first one to hug him.
"I missed you too, Pez." Niall chuckled at the blonde before letting go. "Merry Christmas!"
