CHAPTER XXVI

December

"Don't be nervous. You already met my sister and she loved you." I reassured Louis by holding his hand while I drive.

He offered to drive but I said it's my hometown and he'll probably let us crash by the rate he's shaking.

"I'm excited and nervous at the same time." He admitted and I smiled at him briefly before returning my attention to the road.

The sign to my hometown suddenly came into view and Louis' was shaking more, if that's possible. The minutes went by quickly and before we both knew it, mainly Louis, we were pulling up at the front of my house.

I carefully watched his reaction since I don't want him to think that my family is a snobby one by the size of our house. His face showed nothing but nervousness and happiness mixed in like milk and tea.

My hand took his once we exited the car. I gave him a peck on the cheek as if it would reassure him that everything was going to be fine.

I have nothing to worry about my parents since they will probably smother Louis in attention as well as Gemma, since this is the first time I'm bringing anyone home, let alone a boyfriend. But Harry, I can't help but feel a little nervous to my brother's reaction.

"You'll be fine." I whispered one last time before I opened the door to my house. Nobody knew I was bringing someone home, so I expected the surprise in my mom's face.

"Venus." She said with a knowing smile as she glanced towards me and Louis intertwined hands. "Safe drive, love?"

"Yes. Mom, this is Louis, my boyfriend." I said slowly as I gestured to Louis. "Louis, this is my mom, Anne."

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Styles. Merry Christmas." Louis said and held out his hand for my mom to shake. But just like Gemma, when she first met Louis, my mother ignored his hand and went in for a hug. I smiled at their interaction; I knew my mom was going to be accepting.

"It's Anne, my dear. Merry Christmas." My mom said as she pulled away. "Venus never mentioned a boyfriend."

I glanced at Louis' drained face before turning towards my mom. "I never had the chance to with Harry guarding me almost 24/7 since I came home."

"That explains it." My mom giggled. "You don't have to worry about Desmond and I or Gemma, its Harry you should be worried about."

"Mom!" I shrieked as my mother did nothing to help my boyfriend's nervousness.

"Just kidding, love." My mom pinched Louis cheeks and grabbed his hand. "Come on, breakfast is ready."

As usual the kitchen counter was filled with various foods and I let Louis take my usual place while I take the seat beside him.

"I got a feeling that I should cook twice than I normally cook and I have never been grateful to follow my instincts." My mom said as she whipped out a plate for Louis and filled his plate with pancakes and bacons. "I would have interrogated you by now but my son, my husband and my other daughter will be asking the same questions as I will so I'm going to wait for them."

"Actually, he already met Gem, mom." I said as I piled my plate with bacons and eggs. I don't like pancakes that much.

"Really, when?" My mom asked me as she filled Louis cup with orange juice.

"Remember that picture that Harry was nagging me about all week? The one where me and Gemma met up for lunch, Louis was with us."

"Oh, so what are your thoughts on Gemma? Did my daughter fill you in with Venus' embarrassing stories?" My mom laughed as she took the seat across from Louis.
