CHAPTER LIX

December

"Thank you for meeting with me." I said quietly to Niall as he sat down across me. He just nodded and picked on the food I already ordered for him. He continued being quiet, so I took that to continue talking. "Louis knows about Chance."

His blue eyes widened in surprise before his expression changed to relief and happiness.

"Really? How? When?"

"Four days ago. He found out in accident." I started telling how Louis found out and Niall asked questions here and there. "I'm sorry for getting upset with you. You're right. I feel so relieved now that he knows and he's so happy Ni. He already loves Chance. In fact, he's at my house right now with Chance."

"I'm sorry too, Vee." He said, frowning. "I know I crossed many lines but you understood me, right?"

"I do. And I can't bring back ten years of Louis not knowing but he's making up for it, I'm making up for it." I said as I rested my head on the palm of my hand with my elbow resting on the table.

"You look happy, any rekindling happening?" He wiggled his eyebrows, going back to the Niall I love, a transition to the Niall who walked in.

"No." I countered quickly but of course, Niall saw behind my lie and he laughed at me.

"Something happened!" He exclaimed, leaning over the table as he grinned at me. "Come on, Vee. I've been waiting for a Vouis moment for ten years, feed me, human!"

"Vouis moment?" I laughed as I shook my head.

"Yes! You're ship name!"

"Ship?"

"Oh, you're getting old!" Niall laughed loudly making a few customers turn to us. "It's like, you're my OTP, my one true pair. I ship you!"

"Oh. I think I've heard about it a couple times." I giggled.

"Don't stray from the conversation! Now tell me, what happened?" I refuse to believe that this man across me is 31 years old.

"We... kissed?" I said slowly, coming off as a question. Niall gasped loudly, putting his hand over his mouth and the other on his chest. "It's not a big deal. And it didn't happen again, we didn't even talk about it."

"Not a big deal?" He furrowed his eyebrows. "Tell me more, tell me how it happened."

I told him the story, all the details because I needed advice because I haven't stopped thinking about it since it happened.

"The next morning he just wished me to have a good day, he was asleep when I left the bed and when I came out of the bathroom, he's already finished eating with Chance and he just wished me a good day. That's it." I rambled. "I mean, how do you react to that? How do I feel? What do I feel? Do I ask him about it? Is he even single? Was it just because it was a very emotional evening?"

"Slow down, Vee. You're doing what you do best." He said putting his hands in front of him in a gesture for me to stop.

"What's that?"

"Over thinking."

"Well..." I dragged on as I looked down on my plate. "I can't help but over think. And maybe over-feel too."

"Over-feel?"

"Like, my feelings are on haywire, like I never stopped loving him, you know that. and now I'm just... confused, happy, frustrated, curious, I don't know!" I said putting my head in my hands.

"Hey, hey." Niall called out and I peered up at him, my hands still covering the lower part of my face. "Just wait, be patient. Don't rush things, fix things, and be sure his relationship with Chance is stable first, focus on Chance first."
