CHAPTER LXVII

February

This past month has been a surreal for me. It was like I was living in a fairytale and I'm slowly believing that I am.

I'd wake up, Louis would have breakfast ready, even though most days it just consists of cereals and toasted bread but it was the gesture that warms my heart.

He was surely paying for the last ten years and I was too. I'd let him take out Chance, since he can walk normally now. Chance loves him so much and I'm happy that soon we can officially be a happy family.

"Chance? Lou?" I called out as I hung my coat on the coat rack near the door and shrugged of my shoes. The house was quiet and that was unusual for the two.

Louis' car was in the driveway and Louis or Chance always text me if they were going out somewhere.

I walked in to find the two of them snuggled in the couch with the Transformers playing in the TV. I grabbed that chance to snap a picture of them and made it my wallpaper. They look so alike that it scares me.

Deciding that I needed a shower before I make dinner, I went upstairs as quietly as I could since I didn't want to wake them up. They will both be awake all night but I let it pass this time since I don't have work tomorrow.

By the time I finish showering, the boys were still fast asleep so I let them be as I cooked dinner. For sure the smell of it would awoken one of them and I was right since a sleepy Chance stumbled in the kitchen, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Hi, mum." Chance said, walking over to me and giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, baby, how was your day?" I asked as I turned sideways to stir the pot and be able to see him.

"Dad picked me up from footie and then we went to get ice cream." He smiled as he took a seat on the counter, propping his elbows up. "Everyone was confused why I had a new jersey now with Tomlinson on it, they said I had to use my own name not my idol's name. I tried to explain that I was Louis Tomlinson's son and they wouldn't believe me but then dad came and picked me up. I'm sure they will ask about it to me tomorrow."

"Hmm, so daddy saved you, huh?" I chuckled as I left the sauce to boil and went to lean on the counter. "SO what are you going to say?"

"That dad chased his dreams first before coming back to me." Chance said happily and just like that, the sleepiness was erased and the only trace of him sleeping was his bed-hair or rather couch-hair.

"I just want you to know that we don't have to explain things to people, yeah? If they don't believe you then it's okay. We know the truth and that's what matters. Don't try to explain things to people who aren't open to understand." I leaned across the counter to give him a kiss on the forehead before going back to what I was doing.

"Yeah, one of them told me I was adopted and he wasn't really my dad but I know it's not true." Chance shrugged as he played with the fruits that were displayed on the counter.

"Good." I nodded with a smile.

"I know I'm not adopted." He said with a nod as he put down the fruit.

"You aren't but can I ask how do you know?" I questioned him, curious to what he has to say.

"Because Nonna said I looked just like him and then Grandma Jay showed me pictures of daddy when he was a little kid and I look just like him. Grandma Jay told me that just like me, daddy always wanted to be a footie player when he was a kid." He grinned, showing his permanent teeth.
