CHAPTER XXXVIII

October

"I still don't know what to get him, Ni." I said as I spun in my chair.

"Get him anything, he'll appreciate anything Vee. You know how your love for him is enough." He replied as he laid down his back with his head dangling over the edge of my bed.

"Tomorrow's our first year anniversary, I don't want to give him just my love." I giggled as I stopped spinning.

"Does he even know it's your first anniversary?" He asked laying down his stomach as he raised his eyebrows at me.

Niall has been a bit confusing on where he stands on Louis and I's relationship. Some days he defends him, some days he just acts like Louis is the bad guy.

"I'm sure he knows, Niall." I sighed as I ran my fingers through my hair. "I mean, he didn't mention anything about the anniversary but he said he's going to take me out to dinner tomorrow."

"What happened with his manager?"

I let out a huge sigh before answering. "He said he's been giving them all a harder time than before, especially Louis. I feel like that twat is punishing Louis because of me."

"Yeah, especially now that football season is starting."

"We barely even talk now. guess how many times we talked this week?" I paused for dramatic purposes. "3 times! And two of them are text messages."

"That's..." He shook his head while looking down.

"I know what to get him." I said as an idea popped into my head. I immediately stood up and grabbed Niall's hand, laughing at how he almost fell as I dragged him out of my bed. "Come on!"

"You look beautiful Vee." Perrie said as she fixed my hair one last time.

Danielle and she decided to glam me up for my date with Louis but she's the only one here because Danielle had night classes. Louis was taking me to this fancy restaurant in the other side of town and to say I was excited was the biggest understatement of the year.

"Look." Perrie whispered as she turned me around to face the mirror.

I let out a huge gasp as I look at my reflection. My hand instinctively went to cup my face as I stared at my mirror image. I was wearing a-line spaghetti strapped short v-neck dark red satin dress that ended just mid-thigh with silver ankle strap heels. Danielle chose my dress and Perrie did my hair and makeup.

My hair went down in big waves as it cascades down my back and the makeup was simple but still beautiful.

"Thank you." I hugged Perrie once I was brought back to reality. I knew I wasn't ugly but tonight, I felt prettier that I ever have been before.

"I just polished your face." Perrie said then made a weird face before giggling. "That sounded weird."

"It doesn't." I giggled.

"Now come on. it's almost 8pm." She said as she slapped my bum which made me laugh anymore.

The ride to the restaurant was quick although we had to pass in a creepy neighborhood since the other road was under construction. The restaurant was close to the coffee shop I call my sanctuary.

"Have fun and please, please use protection!" Perrie yelled before honking her horn and driving away leaving me laughing in the front of the restaurant.

"I have a reservation under Tomlinson." I said which caused the hostess to lead me to our table while making small talk. My heart hammered in my chest as I was excited to see him all dressed up but was disappointed when the hostess led me to an empty table.
