CHAPTER LXX
March
"I'm friends with an idiot."
"Well, I'm sorry for caring about her." I rolled my eyes as I sipped on my coffee. I am not your typical British; I am not big on tea although I drink it when I feel like drinking it. Returning my mug on the table, I looked at Niall with a frown. "What would you do if you're in my position, huh?"
"I would tell her to get out my fucking house because...oh I can give you so many reasons right now, honestly Vee, how stupid can you get?" Niall made his point as his hands were flying everywhere.
"I just wanted to help her. She's carrying my soon-to-be husband's child." I shrugged as I played with the food on my fork.
"How has she been around the house?" Niall asked as he took a bite of his bagel.
"She's been good." I nodded; it was actually half a lie. I mean, she hasn't started anything, which I'm thankful for but she's been acting like she doesn't have legs, I mean, I wasn't like that when I was pregnant but I wouldn't tell Niall that since he'll just tell me the holy 'I-told-you-so'.
"I don't believe you." He chuckled without any humor in it. "We'll see later."
"Oh about that, I have to go." I said, looking at my watch. "I need to pick up Chance in five and then go to the store for the dinner tonight."
"Be careful." He said, standing up and giving me a kiss on the cheek. "Be careful in driving and be careful of the wicked witch of the west."
"Niall!" I scolded him as I backed away from the table. "See you later."
I checked my reflection on the glass of the restaurant to see if my underwear was showing since I was wearing a white Mickey Mouse comic crop top that ended just below my boob, my regular skinny jeans and black sneakers. Niall teased me that I dress like a teenager but then complimented me saying I looked younger and hotter, as disgusting as that sounds-his words.
As I strolled down to the field where Chance was, I got a couple of looks since it was my first time picking Chance up. Louis has been doing it ever since we moved seeing as I was busy finalizing my papers at the hospital and things.
"Mum!" Chance screamed as he ran towards my direction, almost tackling me when he reached me.
"Hello there." I grinned as he pulled away from the hug. "How was practice?"
"Great, I'm making new friends here." Chance smiled showing his permanent teeth that were beginning to look like mine and Harry's when we were young. Chance halted when he saw one of his mates, high-fiving him. "Garrett!"
"Chance!" As if they didn't see each other five minutes ago but you know, kids.
"This is my mum." Chance introduced me and I gave a small wave to the kid who was shorter than Chance with green eyes and blond hair.
I introduced myself to his father as well, who was giving me the eye, making me squirm uncomfortably at his stare, maybe it wasn't a good idea to wear crop tops but the temperature was hot, hotter than the normal England weather so it was fitting.
Finally, we said goodbye to them and went to my car with Chance rambling about how he scored a goal for a game they played but it wasn't really a game since he was playing against his teammates, those were his exact words.
"We have to stop by the store first, we're having some company over." I said as I pulled up the parking lot.
"Are they nicer than the woman we have in the house?" Chance asked making me chuckle but then I stopped knowing it wasn't nice.
