CHAPTER LXI
December
"Chance, we're going to be late; it's a three hour drive!" I called out to Chance who was having trouble with what to wear. He didn't want me to pick, claiming that he's a big boy and that he can handle it.
"Is this okay, mum?" Chance asked as he walked down the stairs with a red printed shirt, his black skinny jeans and a pair of red vans that Niall got him as a present.
"Yes, is your bag ready?" I asked him as I close all the windows.
"Yes." He nodded and went to get his backpack.
I hurriedly put his black suitcase in the trunk of my car along with my white one. We were heading straight to my parent's house on the 27th so it was necessary to bring a suitcase. I made sure I didn't forget all the presents, including Zayn and Perrie's.
Yes, they were still together and we will be joining them for Christmas dinner at their house in Doncaster. They knew I was coming but Chance was still a surprise to them, except for Liam and Lottie.
"Ready?" I asked Chance as he climbed in the backseat, Louis will be riding with us, while Liam drives his car to Doncaster.
Upon getting a hum of yes from Chance, I began my journey to Louis' house.
When we reached his house, he was already standing outside with just a backpack.
"Merry Christmas!" He exclaimed as he opened the door.
"Merry Christmas Dad!" Chance beamed, leaning over to the extent of his seatbelt.
"Merry Christmas, Louis." I smiled as I watched him buckle up and settle in. "Where are your things?"
"Liam already left with them. He's going to drop my things off my house before joining his family for lunch." He explained and I nodded as I began to drive. "Do you still sing?"
"Um, in the house, yeah." I replied, staring intently on the road. The streets were slippery and I didn't want us getting in an accident on Christmas, or ever.
"Mum has a great singing voice!" Chance butted in from the backseat.
"I know, lad." Louis chuckled. "She used to sing at a bar near our school and I always watch her when I can."
"You used to sing in a bar?" Chance gasped, his thick accent adding to his adorableness.
"I used to, yeah. Uncle Ni dragged me into one of those open mic things, anyone can do whatever they want with the mic, sing, recite poetries, tell jokes, etc." I shared, smiling at the memory of Niall dragging me to the bar.
"I wish I could've watched you. That would be cool." Chance whispered with amusement in his voice.
"It was cool." Louis smiled. "I love her singing that Elvis Presley song."
"No way!" Chance said in disbelief. "That's my favorite song that she sings too! She always sings it when she's cleaning."
"Guys, I'm right here." I chuckled. "But thank you."
"Can you sing it for us, mum?" Chance asked.
"No way," I shook my head, chucking in disbelief.
"Please!" He demanded, leaning over at the middle of Louis and me.
"Please, Vee. Come on, it's been years since I last heard you sing." Of course, Louis had to join in.
"Please, mum." Chance pleaded, no doubt using his puppy dog face although I couldn't see him.
