The cakes, cookies and brownies were cooling on the stove tops and the peanut butter cookies were now baking so he was occupying himself by replying to the rest of the messages from his family.
He was down to 25 messages now and all of them belonged to his Mum.
Oh boy. He really wasn't ready for this but it was best to get it over and done with so that he could focus on choosing which online school that he would be applying to.
He had until next week to apply before the application process was closed and he couldn't afford to not graduate this late in the semester.
It was only thanks to Wolfie that he had gotten this opportunity and he wasn't about to waste it.
"Okay then. Time to face the beast."
Ha! If his Mum knew that he just compared her to a beast, she would wring his ears off.
He opened up the chat and began reading the messages as quick and efficiently as he could so that he could respond before she checks her phone.
God, why did he have the feeling that she was just waiting for him to reply?
He sighed as he read through the messages.
Only one way to find out and that was to respond and see how long it would take her to reply.
"Damn."

Wolfie's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at Jackson who was on video call with him.
"Mindy Hogan... Yeah... I did see something about her in the news but I hadn't really cared enough to listen to the explanation for her death."
He was currently going over the case files that Jackson had emailed him and of which he had printed out. The case pertained to the Celebrity whose parents were suing a Hospital for wrongful death during a Cosmetic procedure.
"Okay... What are the particulars?"
God, he hated cases like this but seeing as it was a favour for Jackson who also helped him with his cases, he couldn't exactly complain.
Jackson frowned and ruffled his hair. "Well... Mindy had a ruptured breast implant and she was supposed to have the implant removed to be replaced by another one but something went wrong during the surgery and she died. The Doctors are sighting that they followed the correct protocol and the victim's family are accusing them of Medical Malpractice."
Wolfie groaned and slumped back in his chair. "And is there any evidence to show that the Doctors were negligent?"
"Here's where it gets tricky." Jackson folded his arms in front of him as he looked at him, a serious expression in his face which was seen clear as day on the laptop screen. "Well, the hospital launched an investigation and they believed that the doctors followed protocol by the dot. There was no signs showing any sort of negligent behavior but the family still believes that the Doctors must've done something wrong but it should've been a simple cosmetic procedure. A ruptured breast implant shouldn't be much of a danger as they brought her to the hospital as soon as it happened. If it was left unattended then sure, but they immediately went to the hospital to get her treated. I really don't know what to think about this, mate."
