NOT ONLY DID THINGS GO WRONG BACK HOME, the group in Nova Scotia ran into trouble such as losing Jeremy, Bonnie and even Damon. On the beach where they first started, Rebekah and Stefan stood around while Elena called Caroline. At the Gilbert house, Cora sat on the island while Caroline leaned against it as she listens to Elena explains everything.

"Tell me you're not serious," Caroline says over the phone.

"I wish I weren't," Elena sighs and walks around the beach. "When we got back from looking for Jeremy, Shane and Bonnie were gone too. Shane needs Bonnie to cast a spell on Jeremy's tattoo in order to find the cure, and he managed to sneak them both out from under our noses."

"Well, where's Damon in all this?" Cora asks and gives Caroline a look.

"We had an argument," Elena replies. "I thought he was just taking a walk, but then when we went to the beach, we saw signs of a struggle."

"Meaning what?" Caroline asks.

"Meaning somebody probably jumped him and then grabbed him!" Elena throws her hands up in the air.

"Do you think weirdo Shane took him?" Cora rolls her eyes at the thought of the Professor.

"No, I mean, he's not strong enough to take Damon on, even with the element of surprise. He must have someone, or at least a few someones helping him," Elena sighs.

"I'm so sorry. I wish I was there to help," Caroline places her hand on her forehead and Cora shakes her head.

"Honestly, me too but, it happens," Cora slightly shrugs and hops off the island.

"Well, maybe there's something you guys can do from home," Elena suggests and the girls look at each other, nodding.

"Anything. Tell us," Caroline agrees.

"So Shane's looking for the cure. We think we can find him. We have pictures of Jeremy's tattoo, but we just can't translate the map," Elena explains.

"Unless you get the Hunter's Sword from Klaus," Cora states and glances at Klaus, who only smiles.

"Exactly," Elena says.

"He'll never give up the sword," Rebekah shakes her head, knowing her brother.

"Yeah, but if anyone's gonna get him to give it up, it's Cora," Stefan exclaims and at the Gilbert house, Cora rolls her eyes at his statement.

"He will never give up the sword, not even for Cora," Rebekah disagrees. "He's terrified we'll use the cure against him to make him mortal, and even if he wasn't, he wouldn't want any of us to derive a moment's worth of happiness from being human."
