Chapter 14: Who is Jedean?

"Hey Jemma." A girl in my Math class smiled at me as I unlocked my locker which was next to hers. I turned and gave her a small smile.

"Hey."

"Going to soccer now?" She started up a conversation. I threw my textbooks in my locker and shit it.

"Yeah."

"I was wondering, if maybe you could tutor me in Math? Cuz the teacher said you have the highest grade in the class." I groaned to myself as I turned and heaved my bag onto my shoulder.

"Oh, um yeah sure. Can we talk about this later though?" I asked as I checked my cell for the time. She smiled and told me yes, so down the hall I ran.

"Jemma, slow down!" Another girl yelled at me as she tried to catch up. I turned my head over my shoulder and smiled as I saw my best friend running to catch up with me. She stopped just before me and sighed in relief. "God, you run so fast woman."

"Sorry Bannie... so you're finally back from the doctors?" I asked as she walked with me to the locker room. She laughed as she moved her binder from one arm to the next.

"Hell yeah! food poisoning is the worst thing in whole fucking world... I've never thro-."

"Ok anywayyyyy, so Payee basically set me up with Jack today..." I explained to her as we entered the locker room, waving to my other 'team mates'.

"Oh did she? Man I really don't like her. She's so..."

"Annoyingly pushy?" I laughed at her face.

"Yes! Do you even like Jack?" She asked as she leaned against one of the lockers by me.

"Uhm well... he's cute and all." I gave her a pathetic smile, she rolled her eyes and grinned.

It's Kobe again, isn't it? He's got you wrapped around his finger all over again? Man I'm sick for one week and you fall apart! What are you going to do without me?" She playfully shoved on my arm as I tied my cleats.

"Actually, I haven't talked to him in well over 2 weeks now. I haven't even seen him." I said matter of fact. She gasped amusingly.

"Then who has you so bounced?" I furrowed my brows as I leaned back up to look at her.

"What?"

"I know that look, I knew it the minute I flagged you down. You have the same cheerful bliss in your eye that you had when you were swooning all over Kobe a year ago.
I'm your best friend you tard, I can tell when you have a crush on some guy. So who is it?" I looked at her strangely as I scratched the back of my head.

"Uhm, there isn't any guy I like? I haven't even talked to anyone lately except for Payee and Jedean." I explained while throwing on a practice jersey.

"Who is Jedean? Is he hot?" She asked with a hopeful wiggle of her eyebrows. I rolled my eyes as I smiled at her.

Jedean is a girl who I met about a week ago or so."

"Ohhhh, does she go here?" She asked as she looked around to emphasize her question.

"Nope, she actually plays soccer for CSA High." I smiled as I started to head out of the locker room.

"Wait... you like her don't you?" She questioned as she grabbed my arm to spin me back around, pulling me off to the bathroom for privacy I guess. I looked at her with a confused face.

"Like who?"

"That Jedean girl, that's why you have the glint in your eyes...?" I felt my face scrunch up as I looked at her. "Oh my god, why didn't you tell me you were bisexual?"

"Because I'm not? You're totally over analysing this." I laughed as I tried to get around her, giving up as she blocked me again. "Look, isn't this a strange conversation to have after not seeing each other for a week?"

"No? Who says that" She laughed as she stared at me. "I think you like her."

"That's great, Bannie... But I need to get to practice so I'll see you later k? We'll hang out after practice if you want? I just have to pick up Noel." I said as I moved her out of the way and headed for the exit.

"Where is he?"

"Jedean's mom baby-."

"Oh does she? So I get to meet your gf?!" She shouted. I sighed as I noticed the girls on my team looking at me weird. I shook my head and left the locker room.
