---Jemma POV----

40 minutes before the ceremony

Jemma was glowing.

Hair pulled back into a bundle of ringlets that just fell to kiss the nape of her neck with several smaller, "errant" strands left loose to float about and across her face.

In a sleeveless white silk gown that hugging her slim waist and stomach and flowing from her hips in a seamless fall of shimmering, whisper soft fabric, she was the picture of beauty.

Daney stood in the doorway of the tiny room Jemma was using as a dressing room, watching as she went through some last minute primping.

Brushing a stray tendril back, dusting a piece of lint from the shoulder, smoothing a crease in the bodice, shaking loose a stubborn wrinkle from the skirt, straightening the diamond and ruby pendant hanging from the silver chain around her throat, checking the backs of the diamonds studding her ears.

Daney felt confident that she could say—without betraying any bias—that her sister was a picture-perfect bride.

"You look like one of the princesses brought to life."

Jemma looked up, surprise giving way to a nervous smile when she saw who it was, "Daney." She straightened up, hands smoothing down the bodice again. "I feel like one.

"Is everything ok?"

"Everything's fine. Is everything ok up here?"

"Yes. No. I don't know. Daney, I'm so excited. But I'm so nervous." She bit into her bottom lip, "I think I might say the wrong thing. Or maybe I'll just do the wrong thing."

"Whatever you say will be perfect." Daney smiled fondly at Jemma's anxious rambling and stepped into the room. "Stop biting your lip; you'll ruin your lipstick.

"Oh Daney..." Jemma halted them a few steps from the bottom and turned to pull Daney into a tight, fierce embrace.
Her eyes were bright and watery when she pulled back, and Daney knew she was doing some furious blinking of her own. "Will you play a song at the reception later, Daney? One last sister thing for me?"

"Anything for you, My favorite Sister." She grasped her elbow and walked them down the last few steps and into the hall where Noel and their Mother were waiting.

"Now come on, I'm sure Jedean's anxious to get those shackles attached and move on."

"You're horrible." She tried to sound reprimanding, but her voice cracked and wobbled.

"Yes, but you're sort of laughing, so my job is complete."

Their Mother gave Jemma a quick once over, nodded, and they started forward through the doors.

-----At the Ceremony ----

The music met them as they stepped inside and started down the aisle.

Daney stood back in the doorway, once again watching from afar as her little sister, her favorite sister, prepared to step into her new life. She felt Noel come up beside her, slipping and arm round her back.. "She's beautiful," Noel whispered.

"You're going to miss her."

"Every damn day."

---Jedean POV---

She stood at the arch, with sweating palms and shaking knees, so nervous she was sure everyone could hear her heart pounding.

Here it was, finally time.

They had planned this for months, and yet she was so terrified of doing something wrong.

She knew this was her big day, and she wanted everything to be perfect for her. She glanced up nervously.

The sky, so blue this morning, and now was growing dark with an approaching storm. The weather was forecast to be clear and beautiful, and yet the clouds were churning with tension.

The air was hot and heavy, adding to her uncomfortable state. All she could think was, "Please don't rain... Please don't rain (Sun Dance ala JLC & SG) ..." As if on cue, a single drop fell on her cheek and slid down, much like a tear.

She brushed it away quickly. Trying to get things moving along before mother nature intervened, she motioned to the musicians to play.

They began the traditional "here comes the bride" tune. Despite all her worry, she had to remember to breathe as her soon-to-be wife stepped into the darkening light of the afternoon.

She was beautiful in a white silk gown, its simplicity only adding to her grace. She was gorgeous, so much that she could barely remember her own name at that moment. (cheesy)

After a few moments of gaping at her, she finally remembered her part and took a half step back, giving her space next to her as her Mother unhooked her arm from hers and returned to her seat.

The preacher beckoned them forward and they stepped up together.

"She choked back her tears. A feeling of joy so strong that it's overwhelmed my senses.

I couldn't believe it. This was it. Two little words and the dream she had had since she started dating her would come true.

"I do." she said softly and wiped tears from her eyes.

"And do you, Jedean" the preacher said and turned to Jedean. "take this woman, Jemma , to be your wife. To love and cherish, tend to and provide for, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, for better or for worse, for as long as you live?"

"I do." She said, louder than Jemma had said it, and a grin flicked across her lips.

Oh....her perfect, beautiful, wonderful, magical lips...

"Now you may exchange your rings." The preacher said with a nod and a smile.

Jemma took her hand in hers and slid the silver band onto her left ring finger. Jedean took her hand in hers and kissed her nuckles before slipping the ring into place. It was a silver band that matched her but it was thinner and had a small, purple-ish colored stone on it. It was beautiful."

And finally those words came.

"You may now kiss the bride." She moved forward and pulled her to her. Before she could press her lips to hers however, the clouds opened up and poured down on all the gathered.

The guests left in a shrieking mass, fleeing to the venue as a chaotic herd.

The bride looked toward them, tears in her eyes as the rain soaked into her dress.

She sighed, her breath shudder as she fought back sobs.

She looked up into her eyes as she pulled her closer and whispered, "You look beautiful." She kissed her then, in a way she had never felt before, as if she was trying to put all of her emotions into just that one touch. She pulled back and pressed her forehead to hers. "I love you. I always have and I always will." She kisses her again before she could reply.

With another short pause, she whispered, "I'm sorry today wasn't everything you wanted it to be."

She looked nearly as hurt as she felt. She kissed her once more, as if seeing the tears streaking her face even against the rain.

When she finally pulled back, she whispered haltingly, "It wasn't everything I thought it should be... But it was perfect just like this."
