What took you so long?" My dad asked as I finally stumbled into the seat next to Jade, who looked as if he had eaten the entire pizza by himself. I smiled as I tried to wipe his face off, of course him complaining to stop babying him. My dad cleared his throat.

"Oh, uh that new girl on the team needed a ride home. So, I gave her one like the nice girl that I am." My mom started laughing. I glared at her playfully.

"I'm sorry; did you say you were nice?"

"Yeah yeah.... shhhh you." I laughed. My dad ordered another pizza.

-------

"Hey, that girl and her family is here as well. You should go invite them to join us at our table." My mom suggested.
I nearly spit out my drink all over the table, but instead coughed on it.
Jade patted my back. I turned around and noted that she was indeed here with seemed to be a boy that looked around Jade's age, another girl, and a woman. They were laughing at something amusing.

"Why would I do that? I don't even know her and she plays for a different school, wouldn't that just be odd?" I asked.
My mom looked at me with a baffled look. I sighed.

"No, and we already greeted them when we arrived here. Just go and be polite Jedean, god forbid." My mom whined. I groaned as I slid out of my seat. I argued to myself as I walked over to their booth.

--------------- On the other side ——————

Mom, it doesn't cost that much, and if he really wants to do it, I think you should let him." The red headed girl proclaimed to the parent. The mom sighed as she shook her head, which made her noticed my presence.

"Oh, hello." She said with a kind smile. The soccer player looked at me with a curious grin. I shivered as I cleared my throat.

"Uhm, my mother was just wondering if you wanted to join us over there." I motioned my hand behind me. She looked around me and smiled as she saw my mom wave to her.

"Awe, that would be lovely, come on girls, Noel." She said as she gathered up her purse, while the boy carried the tray of pizza. The red head girl raised her eyebrow at me. I felt rather uncomfortable now.

The soccer girl just shook her head as she eyed us, sliding out of the booth to walk after her brother.

"What's your name?" She asked me as she slid out as well. I turned to walk back, my head facing her still.

"My name's Jedean, you?"

"Daney."

"Nice meeting you Daney." I said in a polite tone. She just said 'mhm' and went to sit next to her sister. I sighed as I took a seat between their mother and Jade, who both seemed to be in a heavy chat with others.
Daney and the nameless sister were sharing words as well. I seemed to be the only one who didn't have a soul to talk to, so I decided to pull out my iTouch and take a bite of the pizza.

A few moments passed and I still seemed to be invisible, that is until her mother looked at me with a huge smile on her face.

"Jemma says that you're very good. I didn't get to see the game, but she relayed everything that happened." She commented kindly. I pulled my ear buds out as I gave her a smile.

"I wouldn't say I'm very good, but I try at least."

"Oh don't be modest, you were amazing on the field." The girl commented. I looked over to her with a flushed face. Everyone of course noticed this and laughed.

"Alright, I did ok. You however, wow. How did you learn so quick in only a few months?" I asked. Her whole family looked at me strangely then laughed. I felt uneasy.

"I guess I didn't get to finish what I was saying before we were interrupted." She laughed. I felt like an idiot.

"This is my first time playing for the school. I use to play for an out of school league. But, I was sick during sign up's this year. So my mom just recommended playing for the school's team..."

She scrunched her face up slightly.

"What's that face for?" Daney asked as she bit into her pizza.

"They suck." I said honestly.

Jemma laughed.

"Yeah, pretty much."

"That's not very fair girls." Her mom said as she eyed us both.
I shrugged my shoulders.

"They just don't have any good players, I mean they got better I noticed, but they still aren't that great. Except for you playing now, I mean you did kick our a-butts." I corrected myself as I noticed my mom eyeing me.

"I suppose, I didn't even want to join. But I knew if I didn't get my soccer, I'd go insane." She smirked.
I smiled back.

----------------------

"Mom, can I show Noel my PSP?" Jade asked randomly, they both look so bored as they listened in.

"Sure, Jedean can you watch them?" I smiled as I stood up. I grabbed the car keys and we headed out.

"I'll go too." Jemma's voice came from behind me. I turned around and waited for her to catch up to me.

"Come on!" Jade's impatient voice came out. I laughed as we headed over to the family car. I unlocked it and before I knew it they were playing the small portable system.

"I'm not sure I'd be able to work that thing." Jemma said as she stood next to me, while I sat on the passenger side. I looked up at her slightly.

"Yeah, don't bother. I can't even really figure out how to turn that damn thing on." She laughed at me as I watched them. Jade had let Noel play now, who looked intended on beating Jade's score.

"Now that's sad..." She looked at me and I looked at her, we shared a mutual laugh. "So, how long have you played?"

"Soccer?" She gave a face as if to say 'Well duh?' I laughed. "Uhm, since I was about 6 or 7 I think. I can't really remember. What about you?"

"Apparently, since I was three." I looked at her strangely. She smiled. "Mom said she got me a small ball when I was little and I'd always kicked it around."

"That's cute. So, do you play any other sports?" I asked as I watched the two boys sit on the ground next to the car. She took a seat on the ground as well.

"Uh... well I use to play tennis, but I got caught up in Soccer. What about you?" She asked as she casted me a glance.

"Nah, it's always been soccer. I draw though."

"Oh yeah? That's pretty cool. The most artistically I'll ever get is will be with stick figures." We both laughed.

"That's ok."

"I play piano though." She said as she wrapped her arms around her knees.

"Oh, that's impressive. I-."

"You guy's ready to head home?" My mom interrupted. I looked over and saw them standing there.

"Oh, yeah I guess." Jemma said as she stood up, brushing dust off her track pants. Her little brother whined as he gave back the PSP.

"I'm sure you can play with him again." Their mom said as she wrapped an arm around his shoulders.

"That would be cool!" He cheered up. Jade and the boy shouted together."

"Simmer down Jadr." My dad ordered as he got in the car. Jade frowned as he jumped in the back seat.

"We'll see you guys around. Nice meeting you." Daney said as her and Jemma walked over to their car."

"Meet you home?" My mom asked as she rolled down her window.

"Yep." I said in a mellow tone. I was just about to get in my car when I cursed to myself and kicked a rock on the ground. I had forgotten to ask for the girl's number. "Ugh, now how am I going to contact her?" Fuck my life.
