Chapter 72: The Ball

"Looks pretty cute, Jemma." I heard Daney from the doorway. "Did Jedean buy it?" She asked as my mom finished zipping me up; letting my hair fall back down to my shoulder blades.

"Yeah, but mom insisted she'd pay for at least half of it..." I said as I smiled at my mom through the mirror, her smiling back.

"That's still really nice of her... her family is so kind to us. Be sure to give her my thanks, okay?" She said as she kissed the top of my head, patting my shoulder. I turned around and smiled at her.

"No problem. So, what are you going to do tonight?" I asked as I finished my hair, putting hair clips in the correct places as I made a messy, but elegant bun, tendrils and all.

She shrugged her shoulders as she looked over to Daney.

"Well, Daney suggested that we spent a girl's night together." She said as I took a seat at my desk to slip on my black heels. I rolled my eyes as I heard Daney chuckle.

"Oh, yeah I did. Are you going to be able to walk in those...?" She asked with an interested smirk on her face.

I rolled my eyes as stood up and pacing back and forth. "Well... I'll be damned, she's girly after all."

"More girly than you!" I laughed as we both giggled together. "Anyway, you guys going to rent movies? And where's Noel?" I asked as I grabbed my handbag, making sure to slip in my wallet and cell phone. I don't think make up will be really necessary.

"Oh, well I don't know what to pick yet... it's been a while since I watched any new movies." My mom said as we made our way to the hallway. "As for Noel; you know that big tournament that's coming up? Well, he's not experienced enough to compete, but he wants to help Jade out.
So, they're spending some extra hours at the dojo or whatever they call it with that instructor... Jam?

Anyway, so that's what he's going to be up to for the next few months anyway." She explained as we walked in the family room.

"Well, that's still really good, right?" I asked as we took a seat on the sofa, Daney turning on the T.V. "You think you're going to let him travel to Singapore though? I mean... you won't really have the time to go either right?" I asked as I looked at the clock on the wall; nearly nine o'clock now. 'Come on Jedean...'

"I know, I still need to decide what to do about that, him and Jade are inseparable now." Before she said another word though, the doorbell rang. "Oh, there's your date. Tell him to come in to meet me will you?"

She said as I stood up. I looked at Daney with a sad look.

"Mom, she's just going with Jedean and a few friends from school remember?" Daney said as Jedean rang the bell again; I rolled my eyes at her impatienceness.

"Oh that's right. Anyway, take lots of pictures for me, alright?" She said as she changed the channel.

I smiled as I leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. "What was that for?" She asked with a quizzical look.

"Nothing, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I said as Jedean rang the doorbell again; my eyes rolled again.

"Why doesn't she just come in? Please for my sake... be in your bed when I get home?" I smiled as I nodded.

"Alright, have fun. Be safe. Wear a condom!" I almost gagged at that request. Daney followed me to the door though.

"Why are you walking me out...?" I asked as I was about to open the door.

"I have no idea... I guess I want to show off how pretty my sister looks..... wow." Daney said as we both had our jaws dropped.
There standing in a rather... well Jedean stance was... obviously Jedean. And... well... shit. Let's just say... Jedean looked... "Shit Jedean, look like drop dead sexy in red." I choked back a laugh though as Jedean raised her eyebrows at Daney's extremely blunt remark.
