Sweat was rolling down my face as the sun shone down on the field. And my god was San Jose's team brining even more heat as they zoomed past us on the field.

I sighed as I heard the half time whistle blow and took my seat alongside my team mates.

"Okay girls, we're not doing so bad..." The coach said as well took a glance at the score board... 3-2 with San Jose in favour.

I groaned as I rubbed my head, the hang over still killing me. The girl next to me sighed as she dug her cleat into the ground. "We can come back from this, here's what I want to try when we get the ball back..." The coach went on and on about some stupid play that I knew wasn't going to work.

I sighed once again as I looked over to where Jedean was playing. The way she was moving was telling me that she was definitely getting out some built up anger as she moved about roughly. I could hear her coach yelling at her to pass the ball to some other girl.

The game was miserable and the heat was making it twenty million times worse.

To make matters worse, I could feel my ankle straining when putting too much pressure on it. 'Fanfuckingtastic...This day couldn't possibly get any-.' My thoughts were stopped though as I noticed the forward zooming by me with the ball.

All of sudden, I moved after her, not really caring what I just thought a moment ago. I moved as fast as I could, not caring that my chest was pounding in this heat. I caught up to her, smiling at the fact that I was indeed much faster than her. Before she launched it to our goalie net, I stole it away and ran as fast as I could back up field.

"Run! Run like hell, Miller!" I could hear my coach yell to me I rolled my eyes as I darted pass a girl.

I was a little less than half field away when I launched the ball, then getting collided by two other players, Damned did that hurt like hell... as I grabbed my knee as the pain ran through me I heard my team roar in happiness. I looked up to see the ball had made it, with so much luck on my part.

"Yes!" I heard Emy cry as she ran over to me, helping me up. "That's a hell of a way to take one for the team, Jemma!" She screamed in my ear as her and Jill helped walk me back to center field.

I brushed off the pain in my leg as I rolled my neck and rubbed my side. I was in a lot of pain today, but I tried to suck it up as I took a glance over to see Jedean straying back into the crowd. I swallowed a rough lump in my throat as I shook my head and continued with the game.

It didn't last much longer, maybe 15 minutes or so, I don't know. My hair was a tangled and sweaty mess as I ran water on it, listening to my coach go ballistic over our win; 4-3 in our favour.

"Jemma, not to single you out or anything, but I honestly think that our team got this far today because of your help, don't you guys think?" He asked as we all took a seat on the bench, grabbing out bags and switching out of cleats.

"I agree!" I heard Emy chirp as she patted my back and gave me a hug. "I'm so, glad that she decided to play for the school team! We've never been better, and you guys know it." She said as she I slid on my track pants and put on my flip flops.

I looked up to see the captain of the team glaring down at me. I stood up and grabbed my bag as the coach went on about our next game.

"We're going to facing off with CSA High, isn't that hilarious?" She asked as she watched me.

I scratched the back of my head as I looked elsewhere. "Funny, how the two best teams live only 15 minutes from one another." She continued as she eyed me suspiciously. I raised an eyebrow at her as I crossed my arms, not really caring that everyone had turned attentions to us.

"Is there any reason why you're eye balling me at the moment?" I asked as I put my fixed my hair. She was sweaty and gross as she looked at me. I cringed as I looked at her.

"I saw you last night, over by Point Beach, with their entire team. You were all over one of their players too." She said matter of fact.

I panicked for a moment, then blinked and laughed.

"Okay? Good for you, I'll see you guys tomorrow ok?" I said as I shoved her with my arm, walking past her. I sighed as I continued to walk down the fields, seeing Jedean and some other girl talking vigorously.

I searched my bag for my cell phone, dialling the one person I needed right now.
