Chapter 3: The Pool Party

It's been over a week since Christy, John, Dawn and Derek started their first day of seventh grade and the first week of school has gone by very quickly. Mr. and Mrs. Hart enrolled Derek to be in school the day after he and his siblings got home from camp, they took him to the mall for back to school clothes and gotten him school supplies. Christy invited her three best friends to her house for a swim in her pool one more time, before it got too cold to swim outside. 

Christy wore her same swimsuit she wore at Camp Pinecone when she went swimming in the lake with The Care Bear Family. 

"Hey Christy, You look nice I like your swimsuit" said Derek giving her a hug.

"Thank you, Dark ,Uh, I mean Derek you look great to" said Christy.

After greeting her best friends, the doorbell rang, Mrs. Walker went up to answered the door.

"Hello ma'am, you ordered two large pizzas one cheese and one pepperoni?"said the pizza guy.

"Yes I did" said Mrs. Walker.

"That'll be $19.99 please" 

Mrs. Walker took out her wallet and gave him the correct change and a ten dollar tip.

The pizza guy took the money and said "Thank you and have a good day ". 

With that, Mrs. Walker shut the door and went to the backyard with the pizzas.

"Here you go sweetie, pizza for you and your friends " said Mrs. Walker setting the boxes down on the patio table.

Just as when Derek was gonna take a slice of the cheese pizza, Christy was about to get it for him their hands touched each other and Derek's heart started to beat fast like a drum in a orchestra.

Christy started to blush and her heart was beating the same way as Derek's.

"Sorry Christy I didn't see you there" said Derek blushing and looking down at the ground.

"It's ok I wasn't paying attention" said Christy.

"You're my guest, so you take the first slice" said Christy offering him a slice on a plate.

After three hours of swimming, The Hart kids went back home.

Christy went inside to take a shower. She took off her wet swimsuit, put on her fluffy white bathrobe and put her swimsuit in the washing machine.

She had her own bathroom in her bedroom and went in there to take her shower.

Fifteen minutes later, Christy got out of the shower and blow dried her hair.

After getting changed into her purple pajama bottoms with the white hearts and matching top, Christy took out her diary and wrote about her mini pool party with her best friends and how her hand and Derek's hand touched when they were getting the same slice of pizza at the same time.

Meanwhile at The Hart's house, Mr. Hart asked the kids if they had fun at Christy's pool party.

"So did you kids have fun at the pool party?" asked Mr. Hart

"We sure did, Dad!" said Dawn.

"That's good, now I want all of you to put your wet swimsuits in the washing machine "

"Ok we will" said John.

After that, the three kids went in the basement to watch a movie. They decided to watch Annie.

Dawn who loved musical theater watched a bunch of movies that are based off Broadway musicals. And for the middle school annual winter musical the website announced that they're doing "Annie" .

John heard his twin sister sing in the shower she has a beautiful voice and sometimes he claps for her if he walks past the bathroom door when she's taking her shower.

Auditions were in two weeks so Dawn had to watch the movie in order to become familiar with the plot.

After the movie was finished, Derek went upstairs to brush his teeth and get ready for bed.

Derek thought to himself if he and Christy would ever be like Daddy Warbucks and his secretary, Grace Farrell getting his first kiss at Christmas time.

Derek fell asleep feeling happy and inspired.
