It was the morning of the Senior Dance Competition and Christy walked to the Hart's house to practice before the dance competition tonight.

Derek saw her coming outside the window and opened the front door for her.

"Hey Dance Partner." said Derek as he kissed Christy's cheek.

"Hey Derek." said Christy as she kissed his cheek.

"You ready to rehearse?" asked Derek.

"Yeah I am." said Christy.

The couple walked into the living room where all the couches and other pieces of furniture was pushed back so they wouldn't bump into anything while they were rehearsing.

Derek turned the music that they're dancing to for the competition on his cellphone and started to dance with Christy.

The couple danced around the living room and as they finished, Dawn clapped for them as she watched them in the kitchen while she was resting her sprained ankle and finishing her breakfast.

"Christy let's see how the dress moves while you're dancing." said Dawn as she limbed over to her bedroom to get the dance dress she made.

"Ok. If I'm wearing the dress tonight we might as well have a dress rehearsal." said Christy as she followed Dawn.

"Good idea." said Derek as he went into his and John's bedroom to change into his black dance costume.

Fifteen minutes later, Derek and Christy were in their dance costumes.

Derek's dance costume was a all black suit with a pink bowtie and had a pair of black dress shoes.

Christy's dance costume was a pink ballgown with spaghetti straps and had a pair of matching pink heels.

"You look stunning in that dress." said Derek.

"Thank you and you look very handsome." said Christy.

The couple walked back to the living room and did a quick dress rehearsal.

The music started to play and Christy's dress looked amazing as she twirled during the song.

The dance was over and Mr and Mrs Hart were very impressed with the hard work that Derek and Christy put in to make the dance perfect.

"Mind if I used your bathroom to take a quick shower and do my hair?" asked Christy.

"Not at all, my dear go ahead." said Mrs. Hart.

"Thanks Mrs. Hart." said Christy as she went in the bathroom.

Dawn went in the bathroom with Christy so she could take the dress back in her bedroom so it would look perfect for the competition.

Twenty minutes later, Christy got out of the shower and started to blow dry and curl her hair.

"Hey babe you ok in there?" asked Derek.

"Yeah I'm just curling my hair." said Christy.

"Ok just checking." said Derek.

Christy who borrowed Dawn's bathrobe picked up her clothes and walked into Dawn's bedroom for Dawn to do her makeup.

Dawn had her leg propped on her bed and had her stool from her vanity table in front of her bed for Christy to sit on when she got her makeup done.

Thirty minutes later, Christy's makeup was finished she had shimmering gold eyeshadow, pink lipstick and rosy cheeks.

"You're ready." said Dawn as she handed her mirror to Christy.

"You did a great job." said Christy as she admired herself in the mirror.

"Thanks." said Dawn.

Christy got up from the stool and went to put on her dance costume.

She looked even more beautiful than she did when she first put on the dress.

Mr and Mrs. Walker were in the living room and had their cellphones ready to take Christy's picture in her dance costume.

"You look beautiful sweetheart." said Mrs. Walker.

"Absolutely lovely." said Mr. Walker.

Derek came downstairs in his dance costume and stood next to Christy for the pictures.

Then it was time for everyone to get to Tree Top High School for the competition.

Christy and Derek got in her parents car and the Hart's took the family car.

They finally arrived at the school Derek and Christy had to check in at the desk.

Mrs. Steinberg knew that Dawn had sprained her ankle and wasn't able to compete.

They were told to go in the band room where the other contestants were waiting for the show.

The couple walked to the band room and it was connected to the auditorium stage.

Derek and Christy decided to take a selfie before the competition.

The show started and James Anderson, the senior class president announced the first dance entry.

Derek and Christy peeked through the crack of the door and saw the first act which was a girl dancing to Material Girl by MaDonna.

Derek and Christy were the last act to perform so they started to dance at the bottom of the auditorium steps.

After three hours of the other contestants, it was finally Derek and Christy's turn.

The waltzing music started to play and the couple started to dance.

The spotlights shined on Derek and Christy as they danced.

After the dance had  finished, the audience clapped for them and the couple took a bow as they finished.

The judges called the contestants on stage and James started to announce the third place winner.

"The third place winner is Stacy Wilson Material Girl." said James as he handed her third place trophy and a fifty dollar gift certificate to Seaview boutique.

"The second place winner is Johnny Goldman M.C. Hammer." said James as he handed the second place trophy and a hundred dollar gift certificate to The Sock Hop Diner.

"And finally the first place winners are Derek Hart and Christy Walker The Minuet Waltz." said James as he handed them the envelope containing the tickets to the surprise Broadway musical.

After the show, Derek and Christy's families surrounded them with hugs and kisses congratulating them on winning the competition.

"What show are you two seeing?" asked John.

Christy opened the envelope containing the tickets for the show.

"We're seeing Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella." said Christy.

"This calls for a celebration. Dinner at The Sock Hop Diner is on us." said Mr. Hart.

The two families left the school and went into their cars.

Derek and Christy took a celebratory selfie after winning the competition with their trophy and their tickets.
