It was the second day after New Years Day but Christy was sick in bed with a high fever. Mrs. Walker told her that she wasn't going anywhere and that she'll be at work the whole day and that her father will be out running a few errands.
The Hart kids got permission from their parents and Christy's parents to spend the day taking care of her while her parents were out of the house.
"Come in kids. Christy is in her bedroom resting." said Mr. Walker as he took out his car keys.
"If you need anything you know our numbers." said Mrs. Walker.
"Ok see you two later." said Derek.
The three siblings went upstairs and opened Christy's bedroom door.
"Hey Christy how are you feeling?" asked Dawn.
"I feel terrible. My head feels like it's gonna explode." said Christy.
Derek felt Christy's forehead and she was burning up.
"That's it! I'm taking your temperature. Where do your parents keep the thermometer?" Derek said as he took his hand away from Christy's forehead.
"In the cabinet in the bathroom first shelf." said Christy.
Derek went into the bathroom and took out the thermometer.
Christy opened her mouth and Derek carefully placed it under her tongue.
Twenty seconds later the thermometer beeped and Derek took it out of her mouth.
"It says 101. You're staying in bed young lady." said Derek.
John gaved Christy some Tylenol and a cold glass of water.
"Here you go Christy. Take this medicine it'll help you feel better." said John as he handed her the glass of water.
Christy took the glass of water and the pill.
"You want a snack?" asked Dawn.
"No thanks I just had oyster crackers earlier." said Christy.
"Let's watch tv and relax." Christy said as she turned on her tv.
For the next three hours the kids watched cartoons.
"I'm gonna use the bathroom." said Dawn.
John went into the kitchen and went to grab more water for Christy.
Derek was watching Christy who fell asleep while watching tv.
He whispered "I Care." into her ear and she smiled while she was still asleep.
He knew it was the same words he said when he accidentally knocked her unconscious at Camp Pinecone before he became Derek Hart.
Christy smiled as she slept after hearing Derek's voice she believes it was a dream.
