It was the day after the auditions for the Senior Dance Competition and Mrs. Steinberg announced over the P.A. that she's posting the sheet for the show outside the auditorium door during lunchtime.
Lunchtime came and there was the sheet outside the auditorium door.
Derek and Dawn walked down to where the sheet was and they saw their names on the list and their dance number would be the last act of the competition.
The winning dance couple would win a three day and night all expenses paid trip to New York at the Plaza Hotel and two tickets to a surprise Broadway musical.
"We're in!" said Dawn as she hugged her brother.
"I can't believe it either." said Derek.
"The competition is a week after Thanksgiving vacation. And if we practice after we do our homework and we also practice during the weekend we'll be in good shape." said Dawn.
"Sounds like a plan to me."said Derek.
The two siblings walked to the cafeteria and told their friends that they got in the Senior Dance Competition.
Christy hugged Derek as tight as she could and kissed his cheek.
"I'm so proud of you babe." said Christy.
Steve hugged Dawn and said that he'll be there to watch her and Derek on the stage.
