Derek woke up the next morning and checked to make sure that his hundred dollar bill was under his pillow from last night. He was going to the mall with the twins to pick out presents for Christy.
"Oh good it's still under the pillow." said Derek as he got out of bed.
Derek got dressed and put his babysitting money in his wallet.
At the breakfast table, the twins were thinking about getting Christy's Christmas gift.
"Derek already knows what he's getting for Christy for Christmas. But what should we get her?" said Dawn as she poured her milk into the cereal bowl.
"Christy loves marbles. So we should get her a new set of marbles." said John as he picked up his juice cup.
"Great idea, John and maybe we'll find her a marble bag that has her name on it if we're lucky." said Dawn
The three siblings walked to the bus stop and got aboard the bus to the mall.
They finally arrived at the mall and decided to meet at the food court for lunch.
Derek walked to Diamond in the Rough and saw the earrings that Christy was staring at in the window were still there.
He walked inside and the same man who wrapped his mom's present recognized him.
"Hey I know you. You were here a couple of days ago with your girlfriend" said the salesman.
"Yeah I was and she's not my girlfriend." said Derek.
"Oh I saw the way she was looking at our purple studded earrings and I also saw you looking at her." said the salesman.
"Yeah that's why I'm here. I want those purple studded earrings in the front window please." said Derek as he took out his wallet.
"Coming right up." said the salesman as he went over to the window.
The salesman came back and wrapped the earring box in green wrapping paper and tied a red bow on top.
Derek payed the salesman a hundred dollars and left the store.
Derek walked to the food court, sat at a table and waited for the twins to come.
Ten minutes later, John and Dawn saw Derek and sat with him at the table.
"We got the marbles and we even found a marble bag with Christy's name on it." said John.
"Let's get a pizza to share." said Derek.
The twins agreed as Derek ordered the pizza.
