Chapter 46: Swim Practice Rules

It was the end of the day and Christy was staying after school for swim practice. Derek walked her to the gym before heading home with the twins.

The couple held hands as they walked down the empty hallway to the pool.

"Good luck at your first swim practice." said Derek.

"Thanks babe." said Christy.

They gaved each other a kiss on the lips before Christy went in the pool area.

Derek walked home with the twins.

Christy saw nine other girls on the team and she sat on the bleachers with them and waited for Miss. Rivera to come.

"Hello ladies and welcome to  the first swim practice of the year." said Miss. Rivera.

"Today is just me laying down the rules for you girls tomorrow the real work begins." said Miss Rivera as she read aloud from the Swim Team Contract.

After twenty minutes Miss. Rivera handed the girls a Swim Team Contract for them to take home for their parents to sign.

"This contract shows that you and you're parents have read the rules and schedules and I want them signed and returned to me tomorrow afternoon I'll see you tomorrow ." said Miss. Rivera.

Christy got her contract and walked home.

"Dad I'm home." said Christy.

"Hey honey what do you got there?" asked Mr. Walker.

"A contract from Miss. Rivera she wants you or Mom to sign it so I can join the swim team." said Christy.

"I'm so proud of you sweetie." said Mr. Walker.

"I'm gonna leave it on the table so Mom can see it when she gets home from work." said Christy.

Few hours later, Mrs. Walker came home and Christy told her about the contract Miss. Rivera gave her so she could be on the swim team.

"Of course I'll sign the contract honey." said Mrs. Walker as she took out a pen from the desk.

Mrs. Walker took out a black pen and signed her name near the parent/guardian line and the date.

Then she handed the pen to Christy to sign the student signature line and date.

"Mom is it ok if I get ice cream with John, Dawn and Derek after dinner?" asked Christy.

"Alright honey but be home by ten o'clock." said Mrs. Walker.

After finishing up dinner, Christy walked to The Hart's house to pick up John, Dawn and Derek.

Christy rang the doorbell and Dawn answered it.

"Hey Dawn you guys ready to get ice cream?" asked Christy 

"Yeah were just getting our coats." said Dawn.

They were ready and the four friends walked to Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Parlor.

They got in there and a young man with blond hair said to them "Welcome to Sweet Tooth. How can I help you?" 

John ordered chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, Dawn ordered a strawberry milkshake, Christy ordered vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and Derek ordered  pistachio ice cream with chocolate sprinkles.

Derek decided to pay for everyone's ice cream and the four kids sat at the table.

"I'd like to propose a toast to Christy for making the school swim team." said Derek as he used his ice cream cup like a glass.

"To Christy." said the twins.

"Aww Derek you didn't need to go through all that trouble just for me." said Christy as she took a bite out of ice cream.

"I wanted to Christy because I love you." said Derek.

The couple kissed on the lips and enjoyed the rest of their ice cream.
