The bell rang at Green Hill Middle School which was the start of Thanksgiving vacation. Mr. Baxter the drama teacher and director of the school musical handed the cast and crew a piece of paper that said that there will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving vacation and that they'll be working on the show on Monday after vacation.

Christy and the Hart kids walked to her house to hang out while their mom went grocery shopping to buy the turkey, stuffing bread, box of mashed potatoes, string beans, canned corn, canned peas, cranberry sauce and stuff to make the pumpkin and pecan pies.

"This is the first time in months that all four of us have walked home from school." said Christy while she zipped up her purple jacket.

" I know Mr. Baxter has me and Dawn work like dogs for the show." said Derek

Soon they reached Christy's house. Christy unlocked the door and the kids went inside the house. They put their jackets and coats on the bench near the front door.

"My dad left us some brownies and lemonade in the kitchen to snack on." said Christy while hanging her jacket on the coat hanger in the closet.

The kids went in the kitchen and found a plate of brownies sitting on the counter.

"Your dad makes very good brownies Christy." said John after swallowing a bite.

"Yeah they're good." said Derek while sipping his lemonade.

The four friends decided to kick off their half-day with a friendly game of CandyLand.

Derek didn't know how to play and Christy who's been playing the game ever since she was three-years-old decided to teach him how to play.

After a while, Mrs. Walker came home from work "Hey kids how was school?" asked Mrs. Walker while hanging up her coat.

"It was good we're playing CandyLand right now." said Christy while rolling the dice.

Christy made it to the candy castle which meant that she won the game.

"Wanna play again?" asked Christy.

"Ok" said Derek while putting his red marker back at the starting line.

After a couple of hours, The Hart kids walked back home.

When they kids got home they saw three red envelopes with their names written in gold pen on their front stoop.

They opened the envelopes and it was instructions for the wedding.

"The wedding starts at 10:00. Dress code is Formal and a cloud car is gonna pick us up." said Dawn as she read the instructions out loud.
