"Good morning honey!" I heard the voice of my husband beside me. I rolled over and cuddled into his chest again.
"Good morning love!" I mumbled and smiled.
"We have to get up, It's Sky's graduation!" He said while stroking my back.
"I can't belive that she will go to college after this summer. I don't want her to grow up so fast." Shawn sighed heavily.
Skylar was his 18 years old daughter. Back then Shawn's now ex girlfriend accidentally got pregnant with her but didn't want to keep her. Shawn definitely wanted his baby and after Sky was born they tried saving the relationship, mostly for Sky not to grow up without a mother but after her second birthday her mother was gone and never showed up again ever since.
So the past sixteen years Shawn had raised Sky all by himself. He had a few other girlfriends after that but they were just after him for his money and fame. So of course when Shawn first introduced me to Sky, five years ago she wasn't happy at all. She was thirteen and in the middle of puberty so we had a little trouble at first, mainly because she wouldn't believe that her father and I loved each other. She didn't even talked to me for the first few months but then got over it after she realised that I was there because of her and Shawn, and not their money like the girls before me.
And after Shawn and I got married a year ago everything was good. I knew that Sky would probably never accept me as her mother because she was too scared to be left alone again and I understood that. I accepted it but I still loved her like she was my own daughter.
"Let's go make some breakfast." I watched Shawn climb out of the bed and soon followed him, struggling a little because of my growing baby bump. The three of us ate breakfast together and then got ready to drive to Sky's school.
Shawn and I were waiting at the front door, talking quietly as Skylar walked out of her room and down the stairs. We turned to look at her and Shawn's eyes widen while my eyes got teary. She looked absolutely stunning. Her long brown curls were loosely flying behind her and the dark red dress made her brown eyes shine brightly. She smiled at us before we walked out to the car and started driving to the school.

"Skylar Sophie Mendes" the principal read out loud and we started cheering once Skylar walked onto the small stage to receive her certificate."My baby is all grown up now. I can't believe it!" Shawn sighed and wiped a tear out of his eyes. I took his hand in mine and pressed a soft kiss onto it, comforting him.
Once the ceremony was over we slowly made our way to Sky, who stood with some of her friends. Once she noticed us she smiled big and excused herself from her friends, walking to us.
"My little girl isn't so little anymore." Shawn hugged her tightly, kissing her head.
"I'm so proud of you! I love you, princess!" He whispered.
"I love you too dad! And please don't cry" She kissed his cheek before pulling out of the hug, looking at me.
"Congratulations Sky!" I squeezed her hand but she pulled me into a hug as well.
"Thank you!"
"No problem honey!" I smiled.
"I wouldn't have achieved this without your help." She paused for a few seconds before looking at me.
"I love you, Mom!" I gasped and looked at her. She had never called me like that and I couldn't help the tears building in my eyes.
"I mean it. I love you like you're my real mom. I couldn't wish for a better mother than you!"
"Oh honey I love you too!" I cried and hugged her again, looking at Shawn who was standing behind her. He smiled big and also had tears in his eyes again.
"Mom don't cry." Sky rubbed my back before pulling back softly.
"I'm sorry, that's just the hormones." I laughed lightly.
"We will miss you so much once you're gone." Shawn stepped beside my and looked at his daughter.
"I don't think so. By then my baby sister is born and you have your hands full." we laughed and agreed with her.
"Hey Sky, are you coming with us to that little café to celebrate?" Her friends called.
"Yeah, I'm coming." She called back to them.
"I have to go now. I'll see you later and then we can celebrate at home, okay?"
"Of course. Have fun and take care!" Shawn smiled before she turned to her friends and walked away.
"Shawn?"
"Yeah?"
"She called me mom. I can't believe it!"
"That's because you are her mom! Maybe not by blood, but by heart. And that's what counts!" He pulled me into his arms and kissed me.
"I love you, Shawn!"
"I love you too, Y/n!"
Okay I don't really like how this turned out but I thought the idea was cute and wanted to post it anyway xx
