Aaliyah's point of view:
"Hey Shawn!" I greeted my brother on the phone.
"Hey Liyah, what's up?"
"Can you please pick me up and take me to get my ear pierced?"
"Do mom and dad know about this?"
"They do, they finally allowed me to get the piercing!" I heard Shawn sigh lightly before he answered.
"Okay, just let me finish some things and I'll be there in about half an hour."
"Great, I'll see you then!"
"Bye sis, love you!" He said before I hung up and smiled. Today I would finally get my cartilage pierced. It took me quite a long time to persuade my parents and now they finally allowed it under the condition that I would have to take all the costs and everything.
I played around on my phone and texted some friends while I waited for Shawn to arrive. Finally I heard the car pull into the driveway so I quickly grabbed my things before leaving the house.
"Hey big bro! You're late!" I opened the door of the car and got in.
"Only by five minutes!" He defended himself and I laughed.
"Where's Y/n?"
"She's at home."
"Why?"
"You only asked for me to pick you up!"
"Yeah but I thought she would come with you, I haven't seen her in forever!" I pouted as we drove down the street. Y/n was Shawn's girlfriend and I loved her like a sister. Since the two of them started dating we became really close and she was one of my best friends now, even though she's a few years older than me.
We quickly arrived at the piercing studio and Shawn parked the car. We walked into the shop and greeted the man behind the cash register.
"Welcome, I'm Mario, what can I do for you?"
"Hello, I wanted to get my cartilage pierced!" I said and he nodded, leading me to a black leather chair. I sat down and he started showing me a few piercings. I picked one out that I really liked and he got everything ready. I looked over to Shawn who sat down in a chair by the wall.
"You really wanna do this?" He asked sceptical and I nodded smiling.
My ear was finally ready to be pierced and a few moments later I felt the needle stab into my ear. At first a wave of pain shot through my ear but after it was all done it was okay.
"Okay, that's it!" Mario said and handed me a small hand mirror. I looked at my ear and was really happy with it. I really liked it. It was a bit red and still hurt a little but everything else was fine. I thanked him and slowly stood up.
"Can I see it?" Shawn asked and came over to me. He inspected it and then smiled.
"I love it, looks really good on you!"
"Thank you!"
"Did it hurt?"
"Well, a little but it was okay!" He looked at me, looking a little unsure for a second.
"You know what, I want one too!" He said confidently and sat down on the leather chair.
"Are you sure?" I asked as the piercer got everything ready again and showed Shawn the piercings.
"Yep!" He said and then pointed to the piercing he wanted. I sat down on the chair Shawn sat earlier and unlocked my phone. I decided to take a photo of my new piercing when I got an idea. I pressed the FaceTime button and after a few rings she answered the phone.
