This one is loosely based on a real experience, hope you like it! X

I laughed loudly as I looked at Shawn next to me. The music was playing and we were jamming out to it. Shawn was dancing terribly in his seat and I threw my head back in laughter, my hand hanging out of the car window, wind brushing against it.

Shawn quickly glanced over at me and laughed. As I opened my eyes again it was too late.

"SHAWN!" I screamed and he hit the brakes, tearing the steering wheel to the side but we were too fast. The front of Shawn's Jeep brushed the car in front of us lightly before flying to the side.

I saw us racing into the direction of the crash barrier and suddenly everything was flying by in slow motion. I couldn't make a sound and just stared ahead with big eyes, my mouth wide open.

We crashed into the metal fence but I couldn't even hear it except for a muffled sound. I flew out of my seat until I was stopped by my seatbelt that squeezed every last bit of oxygen out of my lungs. Far away I heard a high pitched scream...

I sat in my bed all sweaty and panting heavily. My heart pounded in my cheat and I had no idea where I was or what had happened. I felt something shaking my shoulder and a voice talking to me as I slowly came back to reality. I slowly looked over.

"Y/n, are you okay? What happened?"

"Shawn? You're okay?" I started crying again and threw my arms around him.

"Yes, why wouldn't I? What happened baby? I heard you scream." he asked worried and stroke my back softly.

"I just had a bad dream. I don't want to talk about it but- thank god you're okay!" I clung onto him, not letting go. We stayed like this until I calmed down again before Shawn whispered "let's got back to bed, okay?"

I nodded and loosen my grip on him. He laid back down and pulled me with him. I crawled onto him, my head laying on his chest and my arms holding him tightly. I threw my leg over his torso so I was halfway laying on him, listening to his heartbeat, calming down. Before I could drift off to sleep again I lifted my head to look at him.

"Don't let go of me, please!" I said seriously.

"Never!" he kissed me and hugged me even tighter.

"Y/n, are you ready?" Shawn called for me.

"Yep, let's go!" I ran out of the bedroom. We left the house and got into the car, soon reaching the highway.

"Wanna play some music?" Shawn asked. I nodded and quickly connected my phone to the car. I played our favourite playlist and started to sing along to the first song. We headed into the direction of Shawn's parents house, jamming out to the songs.

"You're so beautiful honey!" Shawn said and stroked my thigh.

"I love you!" I smiled, took his hand in mine and lifted it to my mouth to kiss it softly. We smiled at each other before Shawn turned his attention back onto the street.

I watched him for a moment, not believing how lucky I was that he was mine. He looked so handsome. The sun hit his skin perfectly and a soft breeze made his curls dance.

It was warm and sunny outside so we had the windows down. My hand hung out the window, wind brushing against it and through my hair.

As our favorite song started playing Shawn turned up the volume and grinned at me. Together we started singing, loud and terribly wrong. I laughed loudly, my head flying back and my eyes closed. My hand still hung out the window as I suddenly got a déjà-vu. The dream from two months ago suddenly hit me out of nowhere.

Sometimes dreams can predict things...

My eyes shoot open and I started to panic. Suddenly we were way too fast. The trees were flying by outside the window and my heart pounded loudly in my chest.

"Shawn! Slow down the car!" I said.

"What? Why? We're almost there and-"

"JUST SLOW THE FUCKING CAR DOWN!" I yelled as I saw a slow car change into our lane a little ahead of us. Shawn hit the brakes and I squeezed my eyes shut, knowing what will happen next.

I waited for us to crash into the barrier but it didn't happen. I didn't even notice that we were now standing on the side until Shawn softly shook my shoulder. I was shaking and struggling to breath.

"Baby breathe! It's okay, you're safe! I'm here, everything is okay!" I heard Shawn say. I slowly opened my eyes again and looked beside me. Shawn was standing on the passenger side beside me.

'when did he get out of the car? And why am I not dead?'

"Y/n! Look at me!" Shawn held my face in his hands. I locked my eyes with his, seeing the worry in them.

"Breath! In and out! Just like this!" he breathed in and I mimicked him. I shakily breathed in and out, slowly calming down.

"Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded slowly, looking around us. Shawn breathed out in relief and kissed my forehead softly.

"What happened?" he stroked my hair, knowing it helped me calm down.

"I-I... I had a déjà-vu." I croaked out. Shawn looked at me, waiting for me to continue.

"You remember that dream I had two months ago?" he nodded.

"I dreamed about us having a car crash. Everything was the same as today. And so I just panicked. I thought we were going to die!" I whispered and started crying again. Shawn didn't say anything, he just stepped closer to me and hugged me tight.

"I'm so sorry baby! But you're okay! You're safe, okay?" he mumbled. I nodded softly and looked up at him. I looked at his lips and back into his eyes, then I leaned in and crashed my lips onto his. We were alive! After we pulled away again we smiled at each other shyly.

"Honey? I'm so sorry to ruin this moment, but I think my parents are waiting for us." he whispered after a while. I sighed shakily and nodded slowly, the thought about getting back onto the road frightening me.

Shawn kissed me one last time before stepping away from me, closing the door and running around the car. He got back into the drivers seat.

"Are you ready?" he asked worriedly. I closed my eyes and nodded lightly, remembering to breath. I heard Shawn turning on the engine but then I grabbed his hand.

"Wait, Shawn!"

"What's wrong?"

"Can you please drive not that fast?" I looked into his loving eyes.

"Of course!" he smiled softly. I nodded and let out a deep breath, preparing myself for the car ride.

"But baby?"

"Yeah?"

"You have to let go of my hand so I can drive properly." I immediately let go of his hand but already missed it as my hands felt empty and cold now. Everything was silent for a moment. After one last glance into my direction to make sure I was okay Shawn slowly drove off.
