So I wanted to make a second part to the Grammy imagine and I wanted to try something new so this is written in the point of view of a fan watching the grammys and seeing Shawn and Y/n on the screen so I hope this isn't confusing now...
Fans point of view
I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing on the bedside table so I quickly rolled over to turn it off. I groaned lightly before opening my eyes and grabbing my phone. It was almost 2 am in the morning here in Europe and the Grammys were about to start soon in the USA.
I quickly went on instagram to check my Shawn Mendes fan account and immediately saw the red carpet photos of him and his girlfriend Y/n from just half an hour ago at the grammys. Shawn wore a navy blue suit and looked absolutely amazing, just like Y/n next to him. They just looked so beautiful and happy together. Just the way they looked at each other showed how much they were in love.
Before the clock turned 2 am I closed the app again and searched for the link to watch the grammys. I had to try it a few times before it finally worked and by then the first performance had already started. The show was opened by an amazing performance of Camila Cabello and after her show and the first awards it was finally time for Shawn to sing.
He sat in front the piano as he started to sing and I immediately was blown away. The way he sang the song was just so amazing. After the first chorus he stood up and grabbed his guitar. He skipped down the few steps of the small stage and I actually was really surprised that he didn't trip before he walked over to the main stage. He walked up the steps and the camera man that filmed the whole show was following all of his movements when suddenly Miley Cyrus came into view. She was standing on the main stage and started singing as soon as Shawn reached her.
"No way!" I mumbled as I realise that they were going to sing together.
They absolutely killed the performance until they reached the end. They sang the last line and hit all the high notes perfectly and left me completely speechless. I couldn't believe what I just heard. It took me a few moments to realise all of this. Then I watched Shawn coming back to his seat next to Y/n who said something that made him smile big before he kissed her. Y/n even had tears in her eyes but then the camera turned away. The next awards and performances flew by without me paying attention anymore until it was time for the song of the year to be announced.
Alicia Keys walked onto the stage and asked for John Mayer to come and join her on the stage to announce the winner.
"Wait, if it's John who announces the winner it has to be Shawn!" I thought and stared at the screen of my phone. I held my breath and bit down on my lip nervously as John opened the envelope.
"And the grammy goes to..." he paused.
"Shawn! Shawn! Let it be Shawn, please!" I whispered to myself and waited for John to continue. By now my heart was beating so loud I was scared my parents would wake up.
"In my blood by Shawn Mendes!"
"Yes! Holy shit! He did it, oh my God!" I squealed, not caring if I was being too loud. I didn't care about waking my parents right now.
I watched Shawn walking onto the stage to accept his award and hug John and Alicia before he took the microphone.
"Thank you all so much for this! This means so much to me and I can't even explain what I feel right now. I'm speechless, this is just so amazing. I want to thank everybody for making this possible. My family, my beautiful girlfriend, my management and most importantly my incredible fans. This wouldn't have been possible without you and I'm so grateful for all of you. I love you all so much! Thank you!" he quickly wiped a tear out of his eyes and just then I noticed that I had started crying too. And my cheeks were already hurting because of smiling so big.
After his speech he walked off the stage and back to Y/n and his team who stood there and applauded. Sadly the camera then turned away and the show continued but now I wasn't interested in it anymore.
I went back to instagram and watched some videos and photos of tonight, commenting a few of them and also congratulating Shawn.
After a while I grew tired so I decided to go back to sleep again. I realized I only had two more hours until I had to wake up for school so I quickly turned off my phone again. I closed my eyes and after a while I fell asleep with a smile on my face, dreaming about Shawn.
