We get in the carriage and I studiously ignore Vincent.

"Was the ride long Mac?"

"It was but I'm sure not as long as yours. With Vincent being a vampire and all he just carried me and ran through the forest and whatnot." he says and I smile.

"Princess carry?" I say.

"Oh hell no. On his back of course." he says affronted and I laugh. Mac and I keep up a nice steady chat and Vincent glares out the window as we ride along. We arrive at The Marrit and I say my goodbyes to Mac. After Vincent gets out he faces me.

"I'll come see you tonight. I'll wake you up if I have to." he says and before I can refute him walks away.

"He has some problems." I say and Mac nods.

"He sure does, but Tal you have to know. Despite whatever stupid thing he did or didn't do, because I'm certain it's his fault. He really loves you. So if it isn't a big issue could you forgive him. I really want to go back home quickly." he says and smiles. I roll my eyes and he laughs.

"I'll take that as a maybe. See you later Tal." he says and walks inside. The carriage drives off and I'm left to my thoughts.
