I heard voices. As if there were two stallions mumbling to each other. There was complete darkness around me, just the sounds of the two ponies. Were they the angels? Thats not what I imagined death to be like. Ponies always talked of paradise or heaven, not complete darkness.

My invisible body suddenly started to feel, a wave of heat ran down me. It felt good after the icy death. Soon enough my eyelids started to feel heavy. Wait. Was I really dead?

I brought my hoof up to massage my eye lid, allowing it to open. The first thing I saw, was a ceiling as I lay on my back. The ceiling looked so familiar yet I could not recognise it. It was dark and it glistened like... crystals... Wait!

I frantically look to my right, there was a wall. I then look to my left, where the rest of the room was. There stood the two stallions that I once thought were the angels. They guarded the heavy looking door, and I noticed I was in some sort of medical recovery room. The stallion on the left saw me wake up, and I quickly ducked under the bedsheet foolishly hoping he did not see me.

I heard him mutter something to the other guard, he then left the room. By then, I knew I was in The Crystal Empire. Somewhere here, nearby, was he, King Sombra. I just knew it. I did not have my friends with me, nor anything to offer in order to not be killed. I was doomed.

Lifting the bedsheet slightly, I saw the other guard still standing at the door. He has a faded brown coat, and dark green mane. He also wore heavy crystal armour, which was decorated with dark crystals, indicating King Sombras rule. Realising that the guard would not do anything, I lifted the bedsheet off me, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do.

Sombra POV (now)

I was sitting in my office minding my business, when my subtle silence was interrupted by a knock.

"In." I commanded coldly. My guard came in.

"Your Majesty, the mare, she's awake now." He informed me.

"Oh is she? Then expect a visit soon. Now leave." I ordered him. My guard then left without a word, bowing his head as hes supposed to do. Everything was perfect.

When my guards bought her weak body in from the cold, I wondered. What could she possibly be doing in my lands, two months after she aided me to get the crystal heart back. Normally I would have tortured trespassers to death, but I recognised her [CC] coat. It was smooth, and pure unlike any pony else.

I made my way to the recovery room, I knew she was there, and I expected some answers. Her attitude would have determined how I punish her. A torture curse? No. That was too typical. I could have hung her by her hind legs from the dungeon ceiling. Those screams would play a melody to my ears. But the longer I thought of punishments, the more I realised she was that wretched Celestias subject. If Celestia sent her here on purpose, then I know better not to harm her. I am still too weak to battle.

And there it is, the door to the mare. Here I come.

Your POV

I remained in the bed waiting for what would happen next. I did not know what to expect. The darkness in the window indicated it was some time in the night.

Suddenly the door knob glowed with some ponies magic. It was a red aura, and I did not know who it belonged to. The door slowly opened, and then I saw him. King Sombra. His armour glistened and his cape waved behind him, clearly refreshed since I last seen him. His posture was proud and tall, and his facial expression was stone cold, full of hatred.

The metal of his armour made a significant noise against the crystal floor as he walked over in my direction. My body started to shake as I scrambled myself up into seating position. I pushed my whole body against the wall, as much as I could, hoping to stay away from him as far as possible. He then spoke, with his cold, deep and insanely seductive voice.

"Why did you aid me in retrieving the crystal heart, mare?" He demanded coldly. As much as I wanted to answer, I could not. This was a question that everypony asked me by now, and I still didn't know how to answer. He cleared his throat, indicating to me that he was growing impatient. I tried to tell him that I didn't know, but no words came out. I shook me head instead, and tears formed in my eyes. He knew by then that he would not get an answer. He was also really angry, because his eyebrows came closer together and his face showed anger.

"Then what were you doing on my land?" He demanded impatiently. And once again, I shook my head without saying anything, however this time, I knew the answer. He just left me speechless. There was a moment of silence in the room, I noticed he was breathing faster now, clearly trying to withhold his anger.

"Ill ask one more time. What, were you, doing on my land?" He demanded. Again, no sound came. I remained silently sobbing, awaiting my death.

The King then stomped his hoof, and I screamed. I then felt his magic grip me tightly around my neck as he picked me up and pinned me to the wall with a lot of force. I breathed frantically as he stood in front of me. He placed his hoof over my shoulders, trapping me with his own perfect body. His warm breath touched my cheeks, and I saw his white fangs which were as sharp as razors. His eyes were focused on mine, and it was obvious he was trying really hard not to let his anger take the best of him.

"Answer, me." He demanded in a half whisper. I then felt the magic that was gripping my neck loosen, allowing me to speak. But I didn't. He really left me speechless. The King realised I would not speak, so he let me go, freeing me from his grasp. I watched him walk over to the other side of the room, he was breathing heavily, now avoiding eye contact. He really seemed insane, no normal pony would act like this.

"I ran away and got chased by Princess's guards and I was living in exile for a long time!" I suddenly blurted out. The king looked up at me, clearly not expecting that answer. It took a moment before he said anything.

"Exile you say. So then, Celestia does not know where you are?" He asked calmly again. His moods swing were starting to scare me.

"Well, she doesn't." I confirmed. I then noticed him smirk. Then there was another moment of silence. The tyrant clearly needed some time to think things through, my answers obviously weren't the ones he was expecting.

"Make sure she does not leave" He ordered the guard coldly as he left the room without looking at me. The door was then shut tight with his red magical aura.

I had no idea what to do next. I obviously wasn't allowed to leave, but what was going to happen next? He was clearly satisfied with my answer. That seductive smirk obviously meant my answer was some king of good news to him. I laid back in bed, feeling tired.

Sombra POV

I left the room. That mare definitely fears me, and she is not wrong to do so. I still need to consider what to do with her once I get all my answers. Maybe I could hang her head on a pole at the entrance to my Empire, as a warning to any other trespassers. After all, she is a pretty mare... that would give trespassers a lot to think. No, I cannot do that... she could become useful. I could use her in battle against Celestia. Or.. she might be of use in another way...
