Fifteen minutes before the official reawakening of the crystal heart, I found myself walking nervously in circles around the throne room. Sombra was sitting on his throne, resting his chin on his hoof, and the crystal heart was safely stored in a small chest beside him ready for the event.

"Relax [YN]." He rolled his eyes. I stopped my pointless walking for a moment, and looked at him as though he was being ridiculous.

"We have no idea what the heart will do to you. I don't want you to..." I breathed heavily. Sombra rubbed his forehead.

"There is nothing we can do." He said bluntly.

"But... But.. You said you wanted me to take your place if something happens to you." I complained.

"Yes. I hope I do not stress you with that." He informed.

"No. Of course not!" I spoke sarcastically as I shook my head. Sombra sighed, and slowly walked up to me. He put his hoof behind my neck and rubbed my shoulder to comfort me.

"There there. Just let things flow, and you will be fine." He soothed.

"You're right." I admitted, looking down at the floor. Sombra then lifted the chest which contained the crystal heart, and placed it carefully on his back and left the throne room. I followed him silently. My heart thumped in my chest knowing that we were mere minutes away from the reawakening.

As we stepped outside together, we realised that it seemed as though every single pony from the Empire had gathered around to attend this event - it really stressed me out. Sombra indicated me to stay close to him all the time, so I made sure to do so.

The guards cleared a path inbetween the citizens for me and Sombra to get to the altar of the crystal heart uninterrupted. I heard the citizens mutter excitedly to eachother as I passed them, they were watching the box that resided on Sombras back.

Finally Sombra managed to get inside the circle made by all the citizens, and I stayed at the front edge of the crowd. Every pony was watching him, and I could only imagine how intimidating that mustve felt.

Sombra cleared his throat, and began his speech.

"We are all gathered here, at this very special moment, to celebrate not only the return of the crystal heart, but also the rise of this Empire, back into its days of glory!" He spoke clearly and slowly. "I know, I have not been a perfect leader, but I promise it will change. Although, I must admit none of this would have happened, without [YN]." He spoke, as he waved his hoof in my direction. The citizens stomped their hooves in applaud.

I gasped quietly and blushed, not expecting Sombra to actually mention me to his subjects. I saw him wink at me, and he then proceeded to continue his speech.

"I hope that one day, you all will be able to forgive me, because I know that I have done many horrible, even unspeakable things, but my main goal now is to make this Empire, a happy place." He finished, and looked down at the floor innocently.

Suddenly the citizens burst into a cheerful applaud as they stomped their hooves in approval. I noticed Sombra smile and sigh in relief. He then lifted his head and hoof up, and the citizens once more fell silent.

"Lets begin." Sombra sighed.

There was an excited chatter amongst the citizens, as Sombra levitated the box off his back, opened it, and pulled out the crystal heart. Many ponies gasped, and at least half of them had their mouths open from happiness. Some ponies I noticed, even had tears in their eyes. They were all so happy, but I wasn't.

My mind was occupied by what would possibly happen to Sombra. If the crystal heart rejected him, then I would possibly never see him again. My heart started drumming in my chest as Sombra said something to the citizens, but I couldn't even tell what he said because all sound was a one big blur to me.
