Chapter 8 - What. Did. You. Do?

Your POV

I woke up. The bed was warm and I felt very rested, but my belly growled furiously at me. Before I even opened my eyes, I yawned. Soon enough I noticed the guards still standing at the door, but this time it was not the same ones. They have had a shift change or something. That was really kind of the King to do, considering hes a tyrant who enslaved an entire empire and would not hesitate to murder any pony.

I looked at the guards. One of them was a bulky stallion with a blue coat and the other one was skinnier with a light grey coat. I then thought about yesterdays events, how I was certain King Sombra would have killed me, but instead he left after choking me a bit which I guess was not too bad for some pony like him. I could understand why he was getting angry, I was being really quiet after all, and I was also a trespasser. I also was a bit angry at myself. The way I foolishly acted the night before, when I could have been braver and avoided being choked.

Hes behaving ridiculous! I suddenly thought. He didn't even ask my name, how rude is that! He just takes me and imprisons me in a room. I growled from anger as I got off my bed. At that moment, the King entered the room.

He clearly came here knowing what to say, but reconsidered his words when he saw me because he closed his mouth. I used that moment of silence to confront him.

"So what?" I asked him in a challenging way. He replied with a cold frown. "Well," I started. "You kidnap me, take me to your castle, choke me, demand answers, and through all of that you dont even bother asking my name?!" I raised my tone at him, but I knew I had gone too far. His face flooded with anger. His magic suddenly grabbed by my neck choking me again, this time however, I could just barely breathe.

"I haven't kidnapped you, as a matter of fact, I aided you back to health since you were on the verge of death. I choke you because you play on my nerves, I demand answers because you betrayed Celestia in front of your friends, and the reason I dont ask for your name is because I am the King here and you should respect me as such, mare!" He roared as he threw me against the wall with his magic. My head hit the wall making me dizzy. It took me seconds to scramble myself up.

"Youre right." I said bowing my head. He gave me a furious look and I knew what he meant. "Your majesty." I added. He scowled at me.

"You are allowed to roam the castle, the guards will notify you of which rooms you can visit and where not. Get your food from the kitchen when you are hungry. I want to see you in the throne room this afternoon to hear all your answers, is that clear?" He demanded, clearly expecting the answer yes, since he didn't even look at me when talking.

"Yes, I'm sorry your majesty." I mumbled as I continued sitting in the corner. The King then turned around and left without another word, and the guards followed him, clearly showing me that I was allowed to leave now.

I waited a few minutes to make sure they were gone, and then left the room myself. The castle was a lot like I remembered it from before he took over, but the overall design looked darker and more sinister. I had about three hours left before I had to go see the King in the throne room to finally answer all his queries. Therefore, I decided to go to the library, where I could relax and think about my answer.

The library did not change. The same old books rested on the tall dusty shelves which towered up to the high, dark crystal ceiling. The air felt dense and dry as I walked deeper into the library. Then something caught my attention. One of the shelves looked a lot like it was recently tampered with. The dust was disturbed and the books on it looked a little different than the ones in the rest of the library. I headed over to those books and picked one up.
