A month after the dinner meeting, I found myself standing at a balcony looking down at the Empire, during a pleasant, warm day. A lot has happened. Most of Sombras dark crystals were gone, there were ponies happily trotting around, and Sombra had just finished stabilising the economy two days ago. Even where there used to be slums, now was a peaceful neighbourhood.I even noticed that Sombra didn't have any surges, since the one at the dinner meeting, which was really good.
Everything was perfect, except for one thing...
"Hello [YN]." Sombra spoke calmly, as he joined me at the balcony. I smiled at him.
"Hey." I replied. "This is amazing. I cannot believe how much you have achieved." I awed.
"It is all thanks to you." He chuckled, making me smile.
"Just one last thing left to do..." I said awkwardly. Sombra rubbed his forehead, knowing that this was the most difficult part.
"I am not sure if I am ready for this." He admitted. "The Crystal heart is powerful, and if we try to reactive it, it may even kill me." He explained quietly, making me shudder. This was the last thing I wanted to happen.
"So maybe there is something else we can do before reactivating the crystal heart?" I wondered, but everything already seemed good, and did not need improvements.
Sombra put his hoof to his chin, clearly trying to think hard of something else to do. After a short moment he placed his hoof back on the floor.
"There is one thing we can do." He started. "We could always let Celestia know of eveything that has occurred in the past months." He suggested calmly, but with a hint of disgust on his face.
"Let's do it! I can start the journey tomorrow." I smiled.
"What? You are not going anywhere." He frowned.
"But we cannot trust a random pony with delivering the information, and well, you cannot really go to Equestria." I argued.
"Nopony is going anywhere." He shook his head, making me frown.
"Then how are you going to contact the princess?" I raised my eyebrow. Sombra turned around on the spot and started heading somewhere.
"Follow me." He ordered calmly. I followed the stallion through the corridors trying to think of what he possibly had in mind.
"Are you going go use magic? I know Celestia can contact Twilight through magic from Canterlot to Ponyville, but wouldn't it be difficult to send letters across such a large distance?" I wondered, trying to sound smart.
"You are right about one thing. Neither me or the two sisters possess a magic powerful enough to send anything across distances like such." He noted. I looked up at the stallion as we walked across the crystal corridors.
"Then what?" I asked, in a half complaining tone. It really bugged me how I was unaware of his plans.
"Just follow." He responded.
We travelled through the corridors, and at first I thought we were about to go to his office, but I soon realised that we walked straight past it. We soon actually arrived at the spare empty office, that I've been in a couple of times before.
Sombra used his magic to open the door, and I followed him as he entered the room. I was curious how a room, that only contained a sofa, desk and wardrobe would have been useful. Maybe theres some trapdoor under the floor? I wondered.
The King then used his magic to move the sofa to the side, he then pushed the desk to the corner of the room, and finally, he used his magic to move the heavy wardrobe away. I gasped when he revealed a fireplace behind the wardrobe, which I never noticed before.
