The following morning, I woke up to the sound of Sombra snoring right next to me. I slowly opened my eyes, and watched him for a couple minutes with an affectionate look, before slowly sliding out of bed.The events from yesterday quickly returned to my mind, making me sigh. I looked at myself in the mirror, and imagined the crown placed on top my head. I started to miss it a lot, despite usually refusing to wear it.
I looked behind, and saw Sombra stretching his slender, strong hooves as he yawned. I watched him for a moment in silence, not really knowing what to say, until he spoke first.
"Morning, dear." He muttered, still sounding sleepy.
"Morning Somby." I replied in a half whisper.
Sombra blinked a few times, trying to wake his eyes up, before looking at me with a wondering expression.
"What plans did we have for today?" He wondered.
"Going to Ponyville to talk to Zecora." I replied, as though this was obvious. Sombra had just left the bed.
"Oh, right. So that Summer Celebration thing is tomorrow?" He asked, levitating his armour, Cape and crown on.
"Yes, tomorrow." I answered, slightly rolling my eyes. We repeated this so many times, how could he forget that so easily.
Some time later, we had breakfast with Celestia and Luna in a large room. I was positively surprised to find out that Celestia made Pancakes herself, instead of asking somepony else, like her maids, to do it. I noticed that left Sombra very confused.
The pancakes were delicious, although Luna just looked at them, half miserably half angrily, before leaving the room in silence. She looked quite sleep deprived, but I still couldn't understand why it made her so moody.
Some time after breakfast, Sombra and I were taken in a carriage, as we headed to Ponyville. I saw Sombra being very curious about my home town, which I told him a lot about. He watched it carefully from the distance, and by his facial expression I could tell that it wasn't what he expected.
"Youre quiet, Somby." I point out, trying to get the stallion to talk.
"Because we discussed Ponyville before dear, and honestly that is not how you pictured it to me. I expected something a little... Bigger." He shrugged, clearly trying to not offend me by that. I started to laugh a little, before responding to him.
"Its fine, you'll enjoy it anyway, the ponies are friendly unlike in Canterlot." I point out. Sombra agreed with a nod, and we then spent the rest of the journey in silence again.
As soon as the town citizens noticed a royal carriage heading their way, a few ponies gathered around, to see who could this possibly be. We then eventually landed, and I hopped off the carriage thanking the guards for the smooth journey.
In the small crowd, I recognised pretty much everypony, but mostly Lyra and Bonbon, Vinyl, and Winona along with a startled Apple Jack.
The ponies faces were hilarious, each and every one of them, put their attention on Sombra. Not only because he was an alicorn stallion, but also because of his horn, and strong and fearless posture. All except Apple Jack, who only seemed surprised because she didn't expect us here.
"[YN], I din' know yer in Equestria." Apple Jack exclaimed as she got nearer. She then paused, and looked at Sombra. "And uh, hello, your majesty." She added.
Sombra smiled weakly before responding.
"Yes, hello Apple Jack." He spoke softly, with confidence.
