I woke up the following day, feeling rested. I didn't hesitate to leave my bed, and get some breakfast since my stomach was being furious at me. After this was done, I looked for the grey stallion, hoping to finally start the lesson. I encountered him as he was just returning to his office from somewhere, and I was surprised to see that he looked really exhausted, even though it was the morning.
"Hey Sombra! What's up with you?" I asked in a caring tone.
"Oh hi. Um nothing, I'm good." He obviously lied. He also smiled awkwardly, so I replied by raising an eyebrow.
"But you dont look that good." I suggested, as I stepped sideways, stopping him from trying to walk past me and into his office.
"What are you doing?" He asked suddenly.
"You look like you haven't slept all night, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing." He looked away nervously. I took a closer look at the stallion, and realised that he looked very sweaty as though he just had exercise.
"Another surge?" I questioned, expecting the answer to be yes. Sombra nodded slowly.
"I am fine though, I have some things to catch up with." He reminded, and without waiting for my reply he used his normal magic to teleport himself past me and get to the door. He walked in and closed the door without another word. His behaviour seemed really strange to me. I decided to walk up to the door, and knock.
"Hey what about you starting your change?" I asked curiously through the closed door. There was a moment of silence before he replied.
"Too busy." His reply was blunt.
I rolled my eyes and left the castle, travelling into the direction of a small park nearby. As I travelled there, I was conscious of the pony slaves, where most of them had chains around their hind legs. They were looking at me as though I was an enemy or stranger. It was really disturbing, but I wasn't too surprised either - after all, yesterday they did see me walking about with their King as though we were pals.
I soon found a bench in the park, it wasn't really difficult because there was no pony here. The park seemed abandoned years ago. I noticed that the bench was made out of crystal, but it was actually more comfortable than it sounded once I laid myself down on it.
It was relaxing to just watch the sky as I lay on my back, however I started wondering as to why it was always burgundy colour. I remembered that when I first arrived here with Twilight and the other lot, the sky was beautiful cloudless blue, and now it was always mostly cloudy, and a deep brown or burgundy colour. It felt odd, and I was really starting to miss the colour blue, since most crystals in this Empire were now either black or dark purple after Sombra invaded.
I never realised that I have fallen asleep on the bench, and I woke up when I felt Sombras hoof touch my shoulder making me jolt.
"Oh my, I'm sorry." I muttered straightening my mane, making it presentable for the King.
"Its fine. I just could not find you, and a guard told me you left and headed this way." He replied calmly.
"Oh right." I frowned. Then I realised the sun was soon going to be setting, and I frowned even more at the thought of sleeping all day on the bench.
"May I?" He suddenly asked, indicating the bench. I blushed, realising that I kept the stallion standing.
"Oh yes, of course!" I moved to the side. He climbed the bench carefully and sat his flank on it. "Why is the sky like that." I wondered out loud. The King took a moment to reply, his words were calm and controlled.
