The school day was the same as usual. Pointless. This was the last day I had to go to the bakery. I sat down on the stool as usual and hazel sat across me. "There's really not much to be done, everything was done last night..." she said quietly.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and read the text from my friend Luke who lived two towns over. "Hey do you wanna go to a party tomorrow night?" I asked Hazel looking up from the metal table.
She looked at me and a smirk crept up on her face. "I'd go...under one condition..." she started. I repositioned myself on the stool I was sitting on "Alright, whats this condition?" I asked.
"You take me, and we stay together, I don't know anybody that's going..." she said with a half smile. "Alright then, it's a date."
Saturday night came around, we decided that we'd meet at the bakery. "Are you ready for this party?" I asked her. She nodded her head vigorously causing me to think she was nervous. "What are you nervous or something?" I asked her.
Again she vigorously nodded her head "Oh yeah...you're gonna stay with me right?" She asked very nervously. "Of course..." I said chuckling. We got into the cab that pulled up in front.
As we got to Luke's house, Hazel, wrapped her arm around my arm. She was practically trembling. We walked up to the door arm in arm. Loud music was booming through the walls and echoing outside.
When I opened up the door people were drunk, high, and somewhat alive all at the same time. It took us a while to find Luke, but when we did he had a beer in one hand, and a fried chicken leg in the other. "CALUUUMM! Who's this you brought along?" He asked me. "Her names Hazel, she's from America!" I shouted over the music.
Hazel waved her hand and said hello. Luke brought us to another part of his house where there were much less people. "You still fighting with the old man mate?" Luke sat down on a crate while we sat on a junky couch.
I nodded my head in response to his question "Is that a rhetorical question?" I looked up with a smirk. We spent another three hours at the party until we left.
"See I told you not to be nervous." I said looking down at Hazel. "Fine Cal, you were right. Happy?" She chuckled.
