"It's going to be okay, you're going to be okay." Luke was trying to keep me as calm as possible. I'm sure my face was red and my tears were as hot as fire. I was scared. Not about Luke or Calum knowing about my abusive relationship, but I was scared about what was going to happen.
Luke stayed calm the rest of the time, I often needed reassurance that things would be okay. "If you want tomorrow morning, first thing we can go to the police department and file a restraining order? If that will help?" I appreciated Luke for everything. He truly was a friend. Luke was one of those friends everybody deserved.
"Yeah of course...but what's going to happen with Kyle? I mean I can't just walk out on him...can I?" Luke looked like he somewhat didn't know what to say. "I mean, yeah you can walk out. He doesn't deserve an explanation..."
Luke was right. Kyle didn't deserve an explanation. He abused me. That was enough. I should have walked out as soon as I started noticing red flags.
