I got put with Hazel. Which meant I was forced to work with her. It's not that I didn't want to work with her; I missed her a lot, it's just to awkward.
Everybody made their way to their partners as Hazel made her way towards me. She sat down on the stool beside me and sighed. "Hazel, we need to talk..." Finding the right words were difficult. I knew we had to figure things out. Fast. Before this got worse than it already was.
"About what? I don't think there's anything we need to talk about besides this project." She said looking down with a saddened look in her eyes. "Hazel you know what." I said sliding over in my seat. "Calum, seriously we have to start working on this project."
"Hazel!" She turned to face me with an upset expression. She packed up her stuff and stormed out. I followed her. We're definitely getting a detention for this one...
She made her way to her house, I followed. "Hazel, we have to talk. Right now." Hazel didn't want to hear anything from me. But I still followed her. We approached her empty driveway. She opened up her front door and walked inside, not bothering to slam the door in my face.
It was not my place, but I let myself inside, shut the door, and followed her upstairs. She fell on her bed, with her face in her pillow; releasing little sobs.
"Hazel..." I closed the bedroom door and sat next to her. "Calum, why are you forcing this so hard?" She sat up and wiped her reddened eyes. "Hazel, I wanna make this right. I wanna go back to how things were. I don't think you're taking me serious. Hazel?"
"Calum, I think we should just be friends. Okay?" I nodded my head in agreement with Hazel. "Calum...I think you should leave." I have never heard her tell anybody to leave. I never thought she had it in her to do that. But I respected her request, and I left.
