Ashton and Michael went back into the other room and Calum stayed in the kitchen with me.   There were a few knocks at the door which ended up revealing Hazel behind it.

"Hi Luke." She gave me a hug and then walked in. She was really torn up, you could hear it in her voice.  She saw Calum and looked down immediately. "I'm gonna go find the other two..." I had to get out of there, because it was just awkward.  "I'll come help you." Hazel tried to come with me but never made it.

In the other room Ashton, Michael and I resumed eating and playing video games. Those other two were dealing with something none of us wanted to get involved with.  Things sounded silent, honestly I thought they both went outside.

Calum walked into the same room me and the guys were just in.  "Can we go on a walk,  I-I just really need some fresh air right now."  Hazel looked up at me with sad eyes. I just wanted some water...

"What's been going on with you lately?  Why were you crying earlier?"   We ended up going on a walk. She needed fresh air, and I ate too much for my figure.  "You didn't hear about it at your place?" I shook my head no...

"Um...this is...really hard to talk about.  But um...Kyle..." The guy that always seems to be there, the guy she's dating?  She was at a loss for words. "You don't have to talk about it...if you don't want to."  I stopped walking to give her proper reassurance.

"Luke I promise I'm okay, are you okay?"  Why was she asking if I was okay??? "Yeah of course I'm okay.  Something just seemed off.  You seemed a little bit apprehensive, or jumpy..." Hazel and I kept walking slowly.

"Is Calum okay?" That was a shocker to me.  I knew she still really cared about Calum,  but I didn't know she cared enough to ask... I stopped walking and turned to face Hazel.  "Honestly I don't know.  After his parents left, he seems happier, but I think he's masking something."

"His parents left?"  He never told her? Nobody did? "Luke I know it's way out of line for me to ask this, and I know it's not my business.  I don't want you to answer anything if you don't think you should either but...what's the deal with Calum's parents?"

I decided it was something she had to know.  She had a strong relationship with Calum before whatever happened...happened.  And I figured she should know what's going on sooner than later.  "Calum lived a pretty dysfunctional type of life, compared to other people." She nodded her head in understandment. "His father isn't in the picture, and so basically his mum got together with a real piece of shit if you ask me, from there things just got...bad."

"Thank you for telling me that, Calum never told me that stuff really."  Calum was very closed off and she knew it too.
