"What do you mean?"  Hazel handed me a plate with pizza and sat down with hers.   "You know exactly what I mean, what happened when you went to get the restraining order?"  Hazel told me this theory that I guess she came up with Luke about the cop helping her, being Kyle or whatever the hell his name is, dad.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you before, and I'm sorry for...treating you like shit and pushing you away and just everything.  I wish I could take it all back and fix-"  I felt like shit. I've never felt this way about my friendship with Hazel before. She hugged me so tight, but it was something I needed. And that's something I'm open to admitting.

"Calum we're okay now, alright? I promise we're okay now."  Hazel was crying into my shirt.  I hated to see her cry, she was too sweet to me. She was hurt. Hurt by me. I fucked up. Not her, not Harmony. Me. I hugged Hazel back, and she eased up a little bit.

I was too upset to eat.  "I should probably get going..." I got up and was attempting to leave. Hazel would understand.   "Calum stay," I couldn't risk walking out on her, especially after everything that happened within the past twenty four hours. We needed each other. "Please?"

I sat back down and bit into the pizza. There was an unsettling tension while we both sat and ate our pizza in silence. Hazel finished her pizza and turned to face me.   "Cal..." I looked up at her. I felt like shit for what I put her through. "You okay?" Hazel asked if I was alright, but how was she?  "Yeah"

Hazel scooted next to me and rested her head on my shoulder.  After everything that happened I figured that I should just let her, she needed comfort, she was hurt. I wrapped my arm around her and held her next to me.

After a while Hazel fell asleep.  She's had a long day.  Restraining orders,  difficult talks,  she needed to tame a break.  I kissed her forehead and laid my head back.
