It was almost time for the party, even though it started tomorrow. Luke put me in charge of snacks, and he got the drinks. I couldn't sleep well last night knowing about this devious plan. I couldn't get it off my mind.
I was at the store picking out chips when I got a text from Luke.
L: Dude I think she might be dating someone now? Idk though.
C: What do you mean?
L: Well I went to the bakery. She wasn't there but her mom told me where she was.
L: So I went to her house and she opened the door.
L: I saw this guy sitting on the couch, but idk he looked idk almost angry or something
C: Was it her dad?
L: Nope. Her mum and dad were at the bakery. Does she have a brother?
C: Not that I know of...
C: Is she coming at least?
L: She said she'll think about it.
Weird. I picked up one of each. Luke's parties were always out of control, too many people came to just eat. I couldn't shake the thought of Hazel, with another man. But why was he angry? I don't know.
I went home with six grocery bags of chips. "Why'd you buy so many chips?" Mali said grabbing a bag and opening it up. "Luke's party. You coming?" I asked her, while pooping chips in my mouth. "When is it?" She asked me. I told her the party was tomorrow at eight.
"Is Harmony coming?" I never thought to invite Harmony. "No, I forgot to invite people. Can you invite Shauna and ask if Harmony will come?" I cleaned up my mess pretty good. Mali stepped into the other room and began calling Shauna. I texted Harmony and asked if she'd come to the party.
