We approached my parents bakery, where my dad was behind the counter assisting a customer. "I have to call Calum, I have to call Calum." I sighed some, I was scared to call him because I had no idea how this was gonna go.
"Well I'm gonna get going, I got some errands to take care of..." I hugged Luke and thanked him for taking me to the police department and walking me back home. I locked the door, threw a pizza in the oven, and called Calum.
The phone rang, and rang, and rang, and it rang some more before Calum decided to answer. "Hello, Hazel?" Calum was tired, I think I woke him up...at noon. "Uh did I wake you up?" I know I woke Calum up, but I didn't want to sound like I did so on purpose. "Uh no-no what's up?" Calum lied and sounded groggy and you could hear his bed creaking as he sat up.
"Uhm can you come over, I have something I kinda wanted to talk about." Calum hesitated and sounded kinda apprehensive but he agreed. "Yeah I'll be over in half an hour, okay?" Calum hung up the phone first.
As the pizza cooked in the oven, I heard Calum at the door. I let him in and he looked tired beyond repair. "You sure I didn't wake you up?" Calum ran his hand through his hair "What'd you want to talk about?" Calum completely avoided the question but whatever, I knew he was tired.
I sat down on the couch, and Calum sat on the loveseat against the wall next to me. "Are you still mad at me for yesterday? I never meant-" Calum shook his head and laughed kind of. "Hazel I was never mad at you. Disappointed? Yes. Mad? No." I sighed and held my head in my hands.
"Well that's the thing. I-" Calum once again didn't let me finish, tiredness? "Hazel don't tell me you went to see him, please do not tell me that he-" Calum looked like he was about to get worked up again. He still had the tired look, but his eyebrows were raised and his eyes showed defensive looks.
I went and sat next to Calum. "Calum I got a restraining order." Calum's face softened up and his body deflated. "Oh...how did that go?" He sunk further into the couch. "It went okay..."
The oven beeped signaling the pizza needed to be taken out. It set the pizza in a cooling rack before cutting slices for me and Calum. "Why did you hesitate?"
