Calum

I don't know what brought me to feeling some sort of compassion towards her. "Why do you put on this front that you have and then show me a whole different side of you?"  She asked looking up at me. Hazel eyes.

"You just bring out a different side of me I guess." I said while using my hands to   support my head.  "You don't seem to let anyone in...do you?" She asked once again,  this time she pressed the information.

"No I don't." I said while shaking my head and chuckling.  "Trust me, Hazel, it's better I don't." I sighed. "Mkay, tell me a story then. Just one story. Let me in." She said while munching on a bag of chips that were layed out in the cafeteria.

"Well...I don't know where to begin." I hesitated tell her about my life, "What do you want to hear?" I asked her taking a bag of chips for myself.  She munched on some chips before she spoke up... "Tell me about what happened to your hand."

I ran my hands through my hair and mentally punched myself. "I got in a fight with my step father...." I told her.  She crumpled up her forehead and leaned in.

"Why?" She asked setting the bag of chips on the table top.  I shrugged my shoulders because I really don't know, "I don't know, he came after me again..."

She came from across the table to sit next to me.  Why? She gave me a hug. Even though I was definitely not the hugging type, I accepted it.  "Calum are you okay at home?  I don't mean to sound invasive or like a social worker but..." she asked me holding my hands.

I pulled my hands away.  "Yes actually, Im doing just fine." I had to lie to her.  Watch me be taken away and out of my house now. "Calum if you ever need to talk, you come to me." She stood up grabbing her bag and put it on her shoulder.  She took her bag and headed away. The bell rang indicating it was now time for second class.

Later that day I walked to the bakery with Hazel.  Hazel eyes Hazel. We got settled like the day before and did the exact same thing. I couldn't help but to stare at how perfect her edible artwork was.

"Calum can I ask you something kind of personal?"  She put the bag with frosting down on the counter and spun around to grab another batch of cupcakes, then proceeded to continue her work.

"Shoot."  I responded.  "How come you won't talk about anything with anyone?" She had asked a question I had absolutely no answer to. "I-I don't know, I guess I'm comfortable talking to you about stuff." She nodded her head indicating understandment.
